Low power consumption and efficient power processing are key to AV adoption – period. “In addition to a potential future burden on data storage infrastructure, the AI systems deployed in AVs are generally highly inefficient. Marc Bolitho, Chief Executive at AI company Recogni, tells Automotive World that the repurposed technology providing a foundation for these systems is the root cause. “The automotive industry basically adopted an existing solution that’s used in data centres for training AI networks, a graphics processing unit (GPU). These are great for parallel processing, but the hardware is large and power hungry: a GPU needs energy to function, as well as a liquid cooling system for dissipating heat.” https://lnkd.in/gV-JiMvq Automotive World Will Girling Marc Bolitho #AI #AIinference #powerconsumption #autonomousvehicles #AV #energy #energyefficiency #level2 #level3 #level4 #automotive #OEM #autosuppliers #GPU #datacenter #datacentre #noneedforliquidcooling #trainingAI #processingAI #trainingmodelsisacostcenter #inferenceisaprofitcenter #costvsprofit

You're exactly right. Earth 2.0 is an initiative that leverages AI for breakthroughs in climate modeling and weather prediction. Here's how these detailed simulations can aid us: Unprecedented Resolution: Earth 2.0 aims for kilometer-scale simulations, a massive leap from current capabilities. This fine-grained detail allows for capturing intricate weather phenomena like cloud formations and localized storm dynamics, crucial for accurate forecasts. AI-powered Predictions: Earth 2.0 incorporates machine learning models alongside traditional physics-based simulations. This "physics-informed" approach allows AI to learn from vast datasets of past weather patterns, improving the model's ability to predict future events. Faster Simulations: Traditional climate models can be computationally expensive and time-consuming. Earth 2.0 utilizes powerful supercomputers to run simulations significantly faster. This allows scientists to explore a wider range of scenarios and make predictions with quicker turnaround. Enhanced Understanding: By simulating Earth's systems with high fidelity, scientists can gain deeper insights into the complex interactions between the atmosphere, oceans, and land. This improved understanding can help us anticipate the long-term effects of climate change and develop more effective mitigation strategies. In essence, Earth 2.0 aims to be a virtual replica of Earth, constantly evolving and offering a powerful tool to predict extreme weather events, understand climate change, and prepare for a more sustainable future.

How long will the battery last? Two universal and basic elements to make the machine work are: battery and metadata. Without battery, the machine won't move. Also, battery accounts for 40% of the total cost of an electric machine, e.g., electric car. Without metadata, the machine won't be able to do even a simple task like to move and to sense the situation. Metadata is a basic enabler. Without metadata, NO data can be found/retrieved, even by the most advanced technologies, like AI, quantum computers, etc. https://lnkd.in/g-aJFnXR Do you or any contacts of yours need our expertise/IP, a copyrighted multilingual metadata, that can do what high technology, like AI, high-end chips, supercomputers, etc., can't do NOW? Thanks. Due to its origin of weapon, AI has risks itself. European Parliament's AI Act has identified a practical list of high-risk AI applications, and EDUCATION is on the list. This Act has been approved by European Council 🇪🇺. 關於 AI 人工智能的一些事實 (Chinese version): https://lnkd.in/eeVbdcza Some fact findings about AI (English version): https://lnkd.in/gwcPNUPP
