As a physician deeply invested in the advancement of mental health treatments, I urge the FDA to approve MDMA-assisted therapy in their upcoming meeting. Clinical trials have shown this treatment's remarkable efficacy in alleviating PTSD symptoms, offering hope to millions struggling with this debilitating condition. However, approval is just the first step. We must also ensure equitable access and implement a public payer model to support vulnerable patient populations. This emerging treatment option has the potential to transform lives—let's make it accessible to all who need it.
