📢 We're taking action! AHSS has officially reached out to Stirling Council regarding the recent demolition of the George Christie Memorial Clock in Allan Park. As advocates for historic buildings, we're deeply concerned about the loss of this listed landmark within the King's Park Conservation Area. We're seeking answers from the council: ❓ Why wasn't a secure barrier erected around the clock tower to assess structural issues before demolition? ❓ Was Historic Environment Scotland's heritage management team consulted? ❓ What measures are in place to prevent such mismanagement in the future? ❓ Have original materials been preserved for stone matching? ❓ Are original drawings accessible for the rebuilding process? ❓Is an appropriately skilled team in place for the rebuilding? Our team Mākhers Studio excited to work with amazing organizations dedicated to providing affordable housing for veterans. Our modular project in Durham, NC was briefly featured on Fox News. For this project we're building several shipping container, energy-efficient ADUs for veterans and a courtyard space for restorative wellness. This project is in partnership with the Durham Land Trust and their veteran partners. Access to affordable housing for veterans is critical for an equitable society.
