Training | Consultant | Instructional Design| Program Development Founder of Why’s Learning Labs and Why’s Learning Method
I recently had a long chat with a long-time resident...a stranger now acquaintance at a sit-up diner. A rare individual. He has lived a fulfilling life is proud of his accomplishments, and is fully contented, which is quite rare. He is the owner of a large business and takes pride in his grown children's lives and their happiness. The secret? His Wisdom or Why's Way? His advice? He believes that instead of spending time allowing kids to experiment, tinker, solve problems, reflect, and think, families are often found sitting in the stands of a soccer field or similar venues. While he acknowledges that sports in particular are excellent for teaching kids social and emotional skills and teamwork, he worries that when taken too seriously, children no longer have the time to tinker, experiment, try ideas, or answer questions and Why's as they develop into adults. In his opinion, kids today are often pushed to be spectators or racehorses but rarely actively engaged in real living and solutionary thinking for real life living. He enthusiastically supports the philosophy and community goals of Why's Learning Lab for today's youth. I'm grateful for the insights from this stranger who has lived the successful life we all want to achieve. As I examine The Why's Learning Method, I can see its principles and skills curriculum reflected in this newfound acquaintance's account of how he lived his life. https://lnkd.in/gNgMG6id #Education #Learning #CommunitySupport

New country, new school? Seven tips to help your children adapt with ease Moving to a new country is an exciting adventure, but for kids, it can also mean leaving behind familiar faces, routines, and comfort zones. We have done such transition seven times over and as parents, all we want is to make it as smooth as possible - but how? Here are some tried-and-true tips to help your children adapt to a new school in a new country: 1️⃣ Prepare in Advance: Talk to your kids about the move well in advance. Discuss the new school, what they can expect, and why this new chapter is exciting. Visit the school together if possible, or explore online resources to familiarize them with their new environment. 2️⃣ Learn the Basics of the Language: If the new country has a different language, start practicing the basics together. Simple phrases like “hello,” “thank you,” and “where is…” can empower your child and reduce anxiety on the first day. 3️⃣ Establish a Routine Quickly: Recreate routines that bring comfort, like bedtime rituals, family dinners, or a special after-school snack. Consistency provides a sense of security amidst the change. 4️⃣ Get Involved: Encourage your child to join school activities or clubs. It’s one of the quickest ways to make friends and feel like part of the community. Show up for school events; your involvement signals to your child that their new school is important. 5️⃣ Foster Open Communication: Let your children express their feelings—whether excitement, fear, or sadness. Listen actively and reassure them that it’s okay to feel this way. 6️⃣ Celebrate the Small Wins: Acknowledge every step forward, like making a new friend or learning a new word. Celebrating these moments boosts your child’s confidence and enthusiasm. 7️⃣ Stay Connected with Old Friends: While it’s important to integrate into the new environment, staying connected with old friends can provide comfort and remind your child that relationships can endure change. Remember, every child adjusts at their own pace, and the most important thing is to be patient, supportive, and open to navigating this new chapter together. Do you have any tips or experiences to share on helping kids adapt to new schools abroad? Let’s learn from each other! #ExpatLife #GlobalFamilies #ParentingAbroad #NewBeginnings #KidsAdapt

Mentor for Teens 💪 Helping Teenagers Build Confidence and Resilience to unlock their potential in 90 days 🚀 Founder of top 1% podcast, 'Generation Get To It'🎙
All it takes is to point our teen’s feet in the right direction to truly fulfil their potential 🚀 This is an example from one of my teen legends who is at the wise old age of 13. Brody’s mum came to me because he; ❌ Lacked focus ❌ Was unmotivated ❌ Strongly disliked school This was causing him to lose confidence in himself, constantly zone out and limit his performance on the footy field and in class. I see this happen all the time and it’s very confronting to have a teen who’s parents love him very much start falling off the back of the class. That’s where I like to come in and use my magic wand to do an analysis to; ✅ Provide direction and goals ✅ Create empowering beliefs ✅ Find where we are losing confidence and instil resilience And sure enough, I got messages like this. Life-changing messages. Our Teen Legends online and in-person program is for 12-20 year olds. We’ve seen teens go from F’s to B’s and C’s to A’s in 6 weeks. Improve their confidence to do things their parents never thought they could. Get selected in representative sides. It’s all in our program. In the program it will; · Build Mental Resilience and Emotional Regulation · Create Healthy Life-Long Habits · Navigate Social Relationships with Confidence · Improve Sport and Academic Performance If you want to enquire if your teen is a good fit for our online program. Send me a DM ‘Teen Legend’. Let’s Get To It

#RelationshipBuildingChallenge Week Day 1 - Unlock Common Ground 🔓 It starts with a daily habit of meaningful connection. Today's challenge: chat with someone you rarely talk to and find your shared fires 🔥🔥. My sharing: I just had a wonderful 😊 conversation with my daughter's playgroup teacher, who is also a social worker responsible for hosting activities for different age groups. She shared invaluable insights 🧠 from her rich experiences, which have been an eye-opening 👀 and enriching learning opportunity for me. Our discussion provided me with some fantastic 🤩 tips and ideas that I can now apply to hosting my own activities. This has been a great start to the work ahead, and I'm feeling energized 💫 and eager to put these newfound learnings into practice. Cheers 🥂 to meaningful connections and the power of knowledge-sharing! #ConnectWithOthers #FindCommonGround #MeaningfulConversations #SparksOfConnection #BuildBetterRelationships #CultivateUnity #DiscoverNewPerspectives #EmbraceCollaboration #SocialWorkInsights #ChildDevelopment #ActivityHosting #LearningOpportunity #PersonalGrowth #CollaborativeExchange #EyeOpeningExperiences #HostingTips #ProfessionalDevelopment #PositiveStart

I support organisations to succeed: Employee Retention Strategist | 38+ Years Corporate Experience | Keynote Speaker | Public speaking | Corporate Trainer | 5X Best Selling Author
The other day, the local Rotary Club with which I am associated embarked on a special project that combined artistry, environmental consciousness, and community engagement. We organized an eco-friendly Lord Ganesh idol-making session for students from Class 2 to 4, and the results were nothing short of inspiring! The session was guided by a skilled trainer from Shanti Niketan, who not only taught the children the art of making these beautiful idols but also shared the science behind using eco-friendly materials. The children learned about the significance of each part of Lord Ganesh's form, connecting the creative process to cultural and spiritual values. The enthusiasm of the young participants was truly contagious. Their excitement in crafting their idols was so vibrant that it even encouraged the adults present to join in and try their hand at idol-making. The smiles on the children’s faces and the infectious energy they brought with them highlighted a profound lesson: enthusiasm and a willingness to learn can bridge generations and inspire innovation. Key Takeaways for Adults: 1. Embrace Curiosity: Just like the children who eagerly learned about eco-friendly materials and cultural significance, staying curious and open to new experiences can rejuvenate our creativity and passion. 2. Lead by Example: By engaging actively and with enthusiasm, adults can set a powerful example for younger generations. Our participation showed that learning and growth are lifelong journeys. 3. Foster Community Spirit: Activities like these strengthen community bonds and highlight the importance of collective learning. It is a reminder that we can all contribute to a greater good and inspire one another. Gratitude to everyone who participated and made this event memorable. Let us carry forward the lessons learned and continue to nurture creativity, eco-consciousness, and community spirit in all our endeavours! When was the last time a child sparked a spontaneous reaction from you? #EcoFriendly #CommunityEngagement #CreativeLearning #SustainableLiving
