Today, I’m excited to announce Powerhouse Ventures’ newest portfolio company, Rock Rabbit, which is driving decarbonized home upgrades by making incentives more transparent and accessible. Every year utilities, states, and municipalities spend billions of dollars promoting energy upgrades like energy efficiency and electrification, however accessing and distributing these incentives is time consuming, confusing, and costly for customers, contractors, and the incentive providers themselves. With an integrated platform and multi-sided app, Rock Rabbit makes rebate identification and management easy for contractors and homeowners, while helping incentive providers improve their programs’ equity outcomes and reduce program costs. Powerhouse Ventures is proud to lead Rock Rabbit’s $3.1M seed round, with co-investors Better Ventures, MUUS Climate Partners, and Kailua Ventures, as well as a syndicate of strategic individuals. Some of the best campaigns we've run for clients have been in industries you'd find surprising. USA Solar Incentives has a great offer. They help suburban and rural businesses that own their property to get government to cover 75-100% of the cost of solar installation. Who doesn't love free CapEx? This campaign was a bit different than our normal campaigns for startups & finance firms but it built Tres $4m in pipeline very quickly! The owner of a rural Chick-fil-A doesn't get as much email as a VP of Marketing for a tech startup - so they reply more. Go figure. Here's our client summing up what it was like working together. He was skeptical that our approach would work at first - solar is dominated by cold calling. Always nice to under promise and overdeliver.
