In preparation for our seasonal kick off meeting, our fantastic field team had a bit of fun dressing up in the season’s start colours and outfits. Our team means a lot to me, as they are the support system that everyone needs at work. Every week we meet up face to face to collaborate, exchange ideas, and share plans for the upcoming week. This approach not only fosters a productive work environment but also strengthens the team’s cohesion and effectiveness. We always follow up on what we have agreed to accomplish during the previous’ week meeting and we measure the successes achieved. When things don’t go as we planned, we are open and honest about our challenges, knowing that transparency is the bedrock of a great team. It takes a lot of effort and consistency to build a highly functional team, but the reward is worth the wait, as it creates a positive and rewarding experience for everyone involved. The dress up activity was a great way to reinforce our ongoing commitment to working together and start the season on a positive note. #collaboration #team #success #winning #newbeginning

🎉 Team Building Meets Holiday Fun! 🎉 Does your holiday party include fun team-building activities that promote growth and learning? If not, let’s change that! Understanding personality and communication styles is a game-changer for teams—it helps us connect, collaborate, and empathize with one another. Empathy, as Brené Brown beautifully explains, is the ability to truly listen and show up for someone so they don’t feel alone in their struggles. But here’s the catch: empathy takes practice. It requires us to slow down, listen, and understand from another person’s perspective. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. Here’sa photo from my group last year where we combined learning with fun during an interactive Four Lenses workshop, complete with an ugly sweater contest and BBQ lunch! 🎅🍔 They learned, laughed, and left feeling more connected. Investing in your team is more than just a good idea—it boosts morale, improves retention, and leads to happier customers. Let’s make your next event both meaningful and memorable. ➡️ Ready to transform your team? Reach out today to plan a workshop tailored to your organization! #LeadershipDevelopment #TeamBuilding #EmpathyInAction #WorkplaceCulture #CommunicationSkills #PersonalDevelopment #CrewsBeyondLimits #EmployeeEngagement #HolidayFunAndGrowth

😂 Fun Friday: The Magic of Inside Jokes at Work! 🎉 Every team has that inside joke—the one that started as a random comment, a funny typo, or a legendary meeting moment and somehow became part of the team culture. Maybe it’s a mystical Excel file that keeps disappearing, a running joke about someone’s 17-step coffee-making process, or a nickname for the office printer that jams at the worst possible time. Whatever it is, these little things make workdays brighter and bond teams in the best way. Inside jokes remind us that work isn’t just about deadlines—it’s also about the laughter, camaraderie, and shared moments that make teams feel like family. Drop your team’s funniest inside joke in the comments (if it’s safe for public viewing 😂) and let’s spread some Fun Friday cheer! 🎉👇

It’s been a busy summer filled with some super cool projects, and as we’re sipping on a cheeky caipirinha on the white isle this weekend, it’s got me thinking about why we do what we do. First off, as a husband and wife team we’re both truly invested in our mission to change minds and shape perceptions through video storytelling. We don’t just see this as a job—it’s our passion, our purpose. Second, we’re here to serve you our clients—and we’re always on. Even on holiday, we don’t fully switch off. When a business trusts us with their project, we’re committed to ensuring a seamless experience—quick responses, flexibility, and a final product that delivers. We never let our ego get in the way. It’s not about what will look great on our showreel; it’s about what your business needs. We’ve got skin in this game, and we’re personally invested in every client—big or small, cool or not-so-gcool. Each project pushes us to be better because we’re only as good as our last piece of work. For us, this isn’t work-life balance—it’s work-life integration. And we wouldn’t have it any other way. #AlwaysOn #ClientFocused #WorkLifeIntegration #VideoProduction #Storytelling

One image, two perspectives............ One simple lightbulb, but to Alison Thomson and me it expresses so much about a body and brain friendly workplace! When Alison sees people sitting at strange angles at their computer she always checks the glare on their screens – we move to avoid it, but we don’t always think about the most whole-body friendly way to do it! I've learnt from her that as part of evolutionary psychology we also instinctively prefer the natural variation of light that occurs through the day, so spending some time working in natural light can be a great way to refresh. From my perspective, there can also be some wonderful lightbulb moments when team members discover their personality types and appreciative those of their colleagues during our fun and interactive workshops. Whether it's looking at your colleague from the opposite side of a room when talking about how people approach deadlines, to flexing how you communicate with another person to meet their needs better, these lightbulb moments can lead to improved team dynamics, efficiency and productivity. Do contact me if you’d like to know more!

How often do we hold company meetings? Weekly? Monthly? Annually? Who attends? Every week, we hold a ‘Slouch’ meeting, a tradition that started with the three of us lounging on office sofas for lunch. Now, it's a Monday ritual where we share wins, challenges, and discuss projects over a great meal. Every two months, I have a 1:1 lunch with each team member. We chat about their feelings, achievements, challenges, and ambitions, creating a space for honest feedback and growth. Every three months, we have a Learn Day. Team members spend a day exploring new skills related to their roles, ending with a 5-minute presentation on what they learned. Every six months, we hold a Growth Week. For three days, we focus on internal improvements—building videos, systems, and processes. It’s a game-changer for our efficiency and morale. Every year, we have a weekend away in the Highlands. It’s all about building relationships, enjoying good food and wine, and relaxing together. Most of what we do revolves around food—it's the best way to spark great conversations and strengthen our team.
