Perfectly weird, and weirdly perfect. Introducing Dally, Inc.: the low-cal, supremely slurpable jelly made from the super healthy konjac root. Konjac jelly is huge in Korea, but the US remains an untapped audience. With an uncommonly fun product on our hands, we set out to introduce konjac jelly in a clear yet refreshingly unserious way to carve out a new category of slurpable snacks for adults.  - Our brand concept, “the habit you’ve been waiting for,” positions Dally as a rare treat that fits right into a healthy routine. - We created a name that felt as fun and intriguing as the product: “Dally” invites you to take a break, get curious, and bring a little play into your life. - We brought Dally’s refreshing juiciness to life with otherworldly, jelly-like fruits. - An irreverent wordmark and covetable pouch design complete the system for a brand we just want to slurp right up. Cottagecore, Clean Girls, Demure, waking up "ready to be completely awesome" - microtrends have become a central part of our culture, allowing consumers to experiment with new ideas and identities at the speed of the trend cycle. But how do brands navigate this constantly-shifting landscape? At this week's Fast Company Innovation Festival, Emily Heyward sat down at Stripes with our clients at Popup Bagels, Cann, and Levain Bakery to explore how these companies engage with microtrends while staying true to their core identity: 🎭 Adapt, don’t overcommit: Microtrends come and go quickly. While it’s important to capture the moment (and fast), committing too deeply can backfire. Brands need to stay agile and avoid getting locked into trends that won’t last. 👩👩👧👧 Community first: The most successful brands grow their communities organically, not through paid tactics. Authentic partnerships and collaborations are key to building trust and engagement over time. 💰 Creativity thrives under constraints: Limitations can spark innovation. Whether it’s restrictions on platforms or budget, these boundaries often force brands to think outside the box and connect with their audience in unexpected ways. 🌊 Balance fluidity with consistency: While brands must be flexible and responsive to cultural shifts, certain values and brand elements should remain constant. This (at times delicate) balance is key to staying engaging yet credible. 💡 Your customer knows best: It’s no longer just about internal decision-making— brands need to amplify what their customers are already doing and saying. Social media is often the frontlines of this discovery, where real-time feedback can shape the brand. Ultimately, the strongest brands are those that evolve in step with their customers—responding to culture while never losing sight of the role they play in people's lives. Identify the areas in which you can genuinely make an impact, and then give yourself the freedom and creative license to play 🤡
