The rapid evolution of data center technologies is reshaping the way we approach design, operations, and maintenance. With increasing complexity in power and cooling systems, automation, and AI integration, maintaining seamless operations is becoming more challenging than ever. To address these critical issues, my colleague Iyad, a seasoned industry expert, will be sharing his valuable insights at the Data Centre Nation (DCN) event in Riyadh. His session will focus on how to tackle the operational challenges posed by constantly evolving technologies while ensuring high efficiency, sustainability, and uptime.

Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA | سدايا), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)’s competent authority concerned with data and AI including big data, has recently announced new data center projects in the capital city of Riyadh. SDAIA President Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, on Saturday, launched several technical infrastructure expansion projects and new data centers in Riyadh. These projects were unveiled at an event attended by Director of the National Information Center Dr. Essam Al-Waqit, along with other SDAIA leaders and officials. 🌍 The Future of Data Centers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia: A Regional Powerhouse The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (#KSA) and the United Arab Emirates (#UAE) are at the forefront of the Middle Eastern #datacenter market, boasting a combined total of 46 co-location facilities as of early 2024. The demand for multi-tenant data centers is skyrocketing, driven by rapid digital transformation and increasing data consumption across the region. This surge is paving the way for modular construction solutions, which are proving to be highly effective in meeting the region's escalating requirements. From an investment standpoint, KSA is emerging as a key destination, with 22 active co-location facilities and more than 40 under construction. Riyadh, Jeddah, KAEC, and Dammam are becoming focal points for data center development, attracting major global and regional players such as e& UAE, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle, Google and Microsoft. Looking ahead, the Middle East's (#MEA) data center market is set to double by 2030, driven by population growth and increasing data demand. This trajectory makes the region one of the most exciting and dynamic landscapes for data center development globally.
