Much needed - and we need more. Most of Europe’s deeptech startups don’t fail because their technology doesn’t work—they fail because they run out of cash! Deeptech is super capital-intensive and needs highly skilled teams from day one. Founders shouldn’t have to go back out to raise more funding just a few months after closing a round. They deserve the same level of resources as their peers in the US—giving them the runway to compete globally and focus on building the world-changing innovations we all need.
Most of Europe's deeptech startups fail - not because their technology doesn't work - but because they run out of cash. Many are undercapitalized from the start. One of the core tenets of our upcoming Fund 3 is to drive up the round sizes for deeptech companies in Europe and the UK - providing founders with the resources needed to compete on the global stage, and to succeed in changing the world. #deeptech #venturecapital

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to meet VC Lab's Venture Institute Cohort 4. RIP Inbox - 300+ passionate, up-and-coming VC professionals makes for quite the inbound. Venture Institute was my first step into VC. The residency I got at the end got me paired up with Neal Strickberger and eventually led to a full-time role with Decile Group. Here's three tips on how to get the most out of the program. 💡 LEARN. Don't forget. This is about YOU learning the ropes of Venture. Do every sprint in a way that teaches you a skill in that area of VC, and save your work to use later. 💬 SOCIALIZE. Great way to meet fantastic colleagues - and not go insane. Pull others in, help others get out of their shell. Ask questions! 💪 EXCEL. Go above and beyond in both content (what you write) and process (meet the deadlines). Bring each assignment to the largest extent you can - especially, contacting VCs and startups in the real world where possible to triangulate your work. Good luck, Cohort 4! #VentureCapital #VentureInstitute #VCLab

Awesome pitch, Gareth English! There's no doubt the key to driving strategy execution is making it personal to every leader in the organization. By enhancing leadership capabilities at scale with real-time, personalized support like SuperpowerMe we can effectively transform leadership development. This approach not only addresses the challenge at the necessary scale but also complements and enriches organizations' existing leadership programs to make a meaningful difference.
Backed by 25+ years of expertise, I empower leaders to really lead through AI-driven insights and strategies.
Last Tuesday I was at Websummit, and we were invited to give a 2 minute pitch of SuperpowerMe.ai at the Startup Showcase. Thanks to everyone at the Natwest accelerator for the help in practicing my pitch. In particular my accelerator cohort and Debbie Lewis, Rosie Gilbert and Julia Adams for their advice and feedback. It’s a long way from perfect, but you all helped me come this far. #Websummit #natwest

What is a founders most precious resource? Funding? Team? Expertise? Revenue? Network? No. No. No. No. and… No. It’s time. And a lot more than you think is key for reaching Strong PMF (see attached slide). Earlier this year I gathered primary data from climate startup founders on their PMF status. I’m releasing the full report in Q1. For now just some bits I find interesting. PS registration for my PMF Bootcamp for Climate Startups is closing in Dec and starts Jan 9. WTech Angel Academy Initially, I came to this course to understand investors from a startup point of view. Yes, not VC, but startups. From how they think to how they work, founders' interactions with investors, and so on. To understand how startups behave, what investors are looking for, and pay attention to when choosing a company to invest in. We spoke about more than this. How to source a deal, what is due diligence and what can be checked in every step, finance and legal advice, how to build a portfolio and Exit strategy. The most important advice for new founders and investors? Trust your intuition. Even in the world with all possible tools and AI in your hand. If something seems weird or you don’t like the person you will cooperate, don’t jump on this. How to train your intuition? It’s the result of all the knowledge you have. So, never stop learning. Thank you, Anna Magiera for answering all of our questions and asking us even more. Thank you, Wtech team for making this course happen.
