A community for those with skin conditions supporting the social, emotional, and spiritual impacts of living with visibly different skin
By uniting with patient groups globally, we can amplify our voices and work together towards empowering those affected by atopic eczema. Through organizing, advocating, and sharing our stories, we can shed light on the multi-dimensional impacts of the disease and strive for better care and support. Raising awareness for atopic eczema is essential in challenging misconceptions and ensuring that patients' needs are met with understanding and empathy. By coming together on September 14th, we can foster a supportive community that advocates for improved care and treatment reflective of the challenges faced by patients and caregivers. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in raising awareness, promoting understanding, and advocating for better care for atopic eczema. https://buff.ly/3VmGXmn #acommunityforthosewithskinconditions #volunteer #causes #donate #change #activism #nonprofit #dogood #charity #fundraising #philanthropy #socialgood #madeamasterpiece #+perspective #skinconditions #communityforskinconditions #yourenotalone #yourskinisacanvas #extrodinary #diseases

Closing the equity gap for children means closing the funding gap. HIV-related philanthropy must prioritize children and youth in order to achieve an AIDS-free generation.
We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Data Spotlight on HIV-related philanthropy for children & youth. We've partnered with Funders Concerned About AIDS to create a new infographic on the extent to which HIV-related philanthropy addresses their needs. bit.ly/NewDataInfographic #reachallchildren

Today we want to spotlight one of our clients who discovered her career in fundraising through an "unconventional" route! Gina Hedberg is the Donor Relations Director at Holt International Children's Services, but began her journey actually as an optometrist in Oregon. She knew it was time for a change and decided to work with an organization that focused on family strengthening and child advocacy, thus bringing her to Holt International Children Services. After a few years, she moved up to take on a major gift portfolio. Today Gina has a caseload of about 150 donors, which she has tiered with the help of Veritus Group. “Veritus really helps with that structure,” she says. “I like making connections and stewarding these donors, but Veritus helps with the monthly touch points and making sure that I’m on track and actually have a plan for the year. Gina is a big fan of the Donor Engagement Plan or DEP, Veritus Group’s tool for creating and managing personal plans for each individual donor. If you are looking for a way to manage your plans for each donor, you'll want to grab Veritus Group’s Donor Engagement Plan here: https://lnkd.in/g4paKw7m . . . Our first 'Legislative Watch' newsletter for the 2024 session went out this week. Take a look and bookmark the tools in the newsletter so that you can follow along this legislative session. https://lnkd.in/ge4WykG6 Why should #nonprofits engage in #advocacy? The research is clear. High impact nonprofits engage in both advocacy and direct service/programming (see: "Forces for Good" book). Advocacy work allows us to address root causes that support the long-term work of our missions across the sector. For some nonprofits, advocacy is as simple as educating the public about their mission. For others, it involves developing legislators and working toward shared solutions. So, cheers to a (hopefully) productive 2024 #Idaho #legislative session for Idaho's nonprofits.

Building a world where we all have access to what we need to THRIVE! My specialties lay at the intersection of people and systems/structures. The opinions shared herein are my own and aren’t a reflection of my employer.
An asterisk *. This is what most Indigenous women (and people) are represented by in research and studies. The * usually signifies “not statistically relevant”. This is horrible on so many levels. In my mind, the * is another form of erasure. Another way to erase, eliminate, and delete Native histories, presents, and futures. I see everyday in conversations about women’s equality (or lack thereof) how our “statistical irrelevance” leads to our not being considered or included at all. This is one of MANY reasons why I think it is imperative that we support Native women, Native organizations, businesses and communities! Because we are relevant! We are still here and our stories and experiences matter. Check out these AWESOME women-supporting Native organizations. Share this, spread the word. Because awareness matters so much!
We want to give a special shout-out to all our women-supporting Native Voices Rising orgs including: 💙 Missing Murdered Indigenous Women - Chahta | Facebook @NotInvisibleMMIWChahta 💙 NAWDIM: Native American Women’s Dialogue on Infant Mortality | Facebook @Nawdim 💙 Pūʻā Foundation | puafoundation.org 💙 Tewa Women United | tewawomenunited.org 💙 The Pine Ridge Girls’ School | pineridgegirlsschool.org Native Voices Rising is a research, donor education, re-granting, and capacity-building collaborative designed to support organizing, advocacy, and civic engagement in our Native communities. Since 2013, we have granted over $9 million to Native-led grassroots and advocacy efforts, including those listed above. We encourage you to learn more about these organizations, as well as all our Native Voices Rising grant partners.
