The week in tech saw GitHub's Copilot enterprise version integrating internal code bases, enhancing collaboration for large businesses. GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke discussed plans to expand Copilot's presence. During the conversation, Dohmke mentioned developer Q&A site Stack Overflow. "We are currently working with this early partner program with many partners, including StackOverflow, on integrating these destinations into corporate and corporate chat," he said. Then, I got a call from Google to discuss their partnership with Stack Overflow and intentions to bring Stack Overflow's data to Google's Gemini model and build Stack Overflow's Q&A capabilities into the Google Cloud console. You can read all about what that will look like here, but the more interesting question is about the value of content in the age of large language models. While LocalCan™ makes nearly $2k/mo, it costs $12 to run. How? I self-host pretty much everything: Website: Next.js Website analytics: Umami Product analytics: Metabase Backend: Fastify.js All orchestrated by Docker Swarm Plus: AWS SES free tier Payments Lemon Squeezy My advice? You don't need as much as you think to be successful. Spend 2-3 weeks learning Docker. Your first setup will take long, but then you can reuse it for all future projects.
