The Paris Olympics 2024 During previous Olympics... I was prone to support individuals [or teams] from Canada, UK, USA, France, and my home team Australia. But not this year. Sure I was thrilled by some of the individual/team performances from representative of those countries; however... The point is that these people all have oppressive governments which promote compliance. Olympic Games are held so the youth of the world can come together with a spirit of goodwill towards others and the expectation of high achievement by all. These attributes were displayed by many many competitors [for example when Arisa Trew won gold for Australia] but not exemplified by the host nation. Did you notice, as I did, that Russia was not there. Why not? Perhaps, Russia does not welcome the open displays of woke lunacy as evident in the Opening Ceremony. Perhaps, France was unable to accept the notion that all qualified competitors meet, and compete, in a spirit of cooperation, trust, and unity. Paris has always been my favourite city; however, the wokeness that hangs over it today is a complete turn off. Vive la Paris and may all your citizens soon discard this woke virus. Richard.

🔥 ♨ Team Innovation: Team effort creates most compelling Olympic cauldron to date 🇫🇷 I almost didn't share this video because I figured just about everybody had seen it. As I've been speaking with people over the last few days, it turns out that many people missed the opening ceremony for the Olympics. The location of The Cauldron was a well-kept secret. it took a team effort to design, create, and conceal it. It took a massive team effort to get the flame to the cauldron. The team was multinational, multicultural, multiracial, and composed of members of all genders. One of the last people to receive and pass the torch was a 100 year old French former Olympian in a wheelchair. Then, came the element of surprise and something we had never seen before. I thought it was a perfect metaphor for what to businesses can achieve through engaging their teams and giving them the tools to foster innovation. In the same way that organizers dazzled the crowd in Paris and around the world, organizations can dazzle their clients. 🏃 🏊 🤸♀️ Did you watch the opening ceremony for the Olympics? 🏃♀️🏊♂️🤸♂️What did you think of the design and approach to the cauldron? For those who haven't seen it, I'm not going to give it away. Watch the video and let me know what you think. #Innovation #teambuilding #Olympic2024 #Olympics #linkedintopvoices Standby. In a couple of hours, I am going to post another version of this video from a US broadcaster in case members outside Canada can't see it. https://lnkd.in/dMsyz4wt

This first post Paris Olympics week is still carrying the buzz of excitement and inspiration! What was it about this Olympics that had many of us at hello?! Paris’ historic beauty is undeniable. In collaboration with the greatest sporting event on this planet, it was the first Olympics with full gender parity and delivered across 32 sports many magnificent moments, heartbreaking defeats, moving stories of the athlete’s pilgrimage to get there, fun entertainment (Snoop Dogg did not disappoint!), excellent “play by play” coverage and unity. For all of the upheaval in various parts of the world, the ability of the global sports communities to come together in respect and support, even in the throes of intense competition, was a master class in how to do it. -Lift one another up and celebrate the achievements -Learn from the experiences -Recognize the generations of Olympic athletes who came before and paved the way to be better, along with the competitors who pushed the level of performances to the highest and best in the moment -Appreciate all of it and the village of people who were an integral part of the journey While there were issues; some that could be quickly addressed and resolved, some that required an alternate plan and others that are still smarting from a questionable decision, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games captured our heart's and broke many records. #ParisOlympics #WaytogoUSA #lovewhatyoudo #teamwork #healthandwellbeing #LA2028

💭❤️What’s Togetherness Got to Do with Creating Long-Term Loyal Customers?💭❤️ Justine Catterall a friend and top show producer, recently shared profound insights on the #ParisOlympics Opening Ceremony. Having worked together over the years, Justin’s ability to engage audiences in real life and through broadcast is unparalleled! Here’s what I took away: 🌟 Human Connection is Key: Creating loyalty hinges on understanding that we are all human. Whether through live events, TV broadcast, or online, fostering genuine connections is paramount. 🎉 The Power of Live Events: Live events create an unmatched sense of togetherness. During my 17 years with #Virgin, we leveraged live events in music, film, and gaming to reach new audiences, drive loyalty, and reward business partners. Virgin knew how to make their audiences feel special. 🌐 Non-Linear Experiences: Breaking geographical barriers, broadcast & online content allows continuous engagement and builds vibrant communities. It has to engage and create a reaction or it creates fatigue. 💡 Creating Emotional Bonds: Togetherness turns an audience into a community. It’s the magic ingredient that makes your audience feel valued and connected. Linear experiences that merely make us watch often fail to create lasting loyalty. 🚀 Actionable Steps for Your Business: 🎯 Interactive Experiences: Encourage participation in your events and online platforms. As Justin says, what’s that key thing that will make everyone engage? A song, an action, a moment to share. 🎯 Storytelling: Use stories to forge emotional connections with your audience. 🎯 Recognition and Rewards: Celebrate your loyal customers both live and online to foster a sense of belonging. 🤑 The result? Whether through live events or digital platforms, fostering togetherness creates a ripple effect. Engaged audiences become communities that spread the word, drawing more people in. Contagious called this Amplified Live after the London 2012 Olympics, where Justin played a key role. Togetherness is the art of turning an audience into engaged customers, members, or a community. 🙏 Thank you, Justin, for such a great insight! ⁉️ What strategies have you used to create this sense of togetherness in your business or brand? Share your experiences! 🌟 #CustomerLoyalty #CommunityBuilding #EventMarketing #AudienceEngagement #LiveEvents #OnlineCommunities #audience101
My thoughts on the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony: I, like everyone else (particularly those of us who have been involved in Olympics Opening Ceremonies before), watched last night in fascination. I went to bed feeling confused and unsure as to what I felt about it all....but actually having slept on it I feel clearer. It was heartbreaking that the weather was so awful...we spent months looking at weather forecasts for London 2012 and actually we got away lightly - the rain last night was horrific and I felt desperately sorry for everyone involved. However, I don't think it was the reason it has not been well received. I really admired the creative intent in trying to break the mould and take things away from the norm and some of the riverside elements worked really well - I loved the dancers in the water in front of the gold building for example and I thought the silver horse riding along the river was well executed even if it did go on too long.....However conceiving a show that is impossible to rehearse is, I would say, a huge mistake and frankly I am surprised there were less massive cock-up moments and technical challenges. But I think the crucial element that was missed was the lack of that TOGETHERNESS thing that is always so uplifting to us humans. That thing when you are part of a huge crowd and you all sing together to an amazing song or you all fall silent for some super poignant moment such as the coming together of the petals of the 2012 Olympic flame is massively underestimated - as humans feeling all connected, even for just a few seconds whether in the stadium or even just watching at home on a TV, is an extraordinarily bonding and uplifting thing. Perhaps if they had compromised and maybe had the second half of the ceremony in the stadium they would have brought it all together and had more people onside..... However, regardless well done to the team for working so hard and battling the challenges that must have been HUGE in delivering it at all, I hope you managed to get a lie-in today!

Paris 2024: Olympic Games Overshadowed by National Ego and Organizational Failures The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are passing by without much fanfare, overshadowed by the brilliance of previous editions like Barcelona 1992 and London 2012, which were celebrated for their modernity and elegance. The initial excitement of reviving Olympic grandeur has been eclipsed by what seems to be an excuse for the French national ego to flourish unchecked. From the very first day, the "woke culture" festival took over the event, shifting the focus from the real protagonists, the athletes, to the city, the River Seine, and other unrelated exhibitions. What should have been a celebration of sports turned into an excessive display of Parisian grandeur that only the French seem to appreciate. Throughout the event, we have witnessed a series of organizational blunders that highlight the difference between ambition and capability. France appears to be struggling with the challenge it set for itself. The desire to take on too much has resulted in a lackluster and poorly managed event, falling short in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. Hopes now rest on the United States for the next Olympic Games, with the expectation that they will host a more universal event, less centered on exaggerated patriotism. The international community looks forward to the next host restoring the Olympics' shine and significance, while Paris 2024 serves as a lesson in the dangers of prioritizing national ego over the true spirit of sportsmanship.
