This week, the legislature is back in session, and we're gearing up for the upcoming budget and policy session in Harrisburg. Here's an update on the progress of our efforts to #FreetheData and provide more timely access to workforce data. 👉 We've scored major wins with the introduction of legislation in the Pennsylvania House (HB1770) and the Senate (SB761), thanks to the unwavering support of Representatives Jennifer O'Mara, Kate Klunk, and Senator Camera Bartolotta. We appreciate our legislative partners who recognize the importance of a strong workforce development system. 🤝 Recently, #FreetheData has garnered the backing of 21 Local Workforce Boards across Pennsylvania, a testament to the urgency of getting workforce data into the hands of our local leaders. 🎙️ We're pushing for committee hearings in both chambers, paving the way for open, constructive dialogue. Our goal? To make a compelling case to our legislators: it's time to make workforce data transparent and accessible, helping to make Pennsylvania's workforce the strongest in the nation. We've brought together a diverse coalition of business organizations, labor unions, and social service agencies to champion legislation granting better access to crucial workforce data from the Commonwealth. In the weeks and months ahead, we're rolling up our sleeves to collaborate with stakeholders and legislative allies to ensure timely access to critical workforce data. When workforce boards and stakeholders have the insights they need, they can better serve jobseekers, workers, and businesses across the state.
