𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬, a subsidiary of the 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐡𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩, and 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐋𝐍𝐆 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 provider 𝐆𝐚𝐬𝐋𝐨𝐠 have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to retrofit 𝐆𝐚𝐬𝐋𝐨𝐠's LNG carriers with ammonia gas turbines. The MoU was signed at Gastech 2024 in Houston on September 19. This project aims to replace fossil fuel-powered propulsion systems with eco-friendly ammonia gas turbines, following successful preliminary engineering and economic feasibility studies. The collaboration is part of broader efforts to meet international maritime regulations and promote carbon-free ship propulsion.
