In today's world of modern design and construction, new builds can sometimes fall short in both design and craftsmanship. Often, the trouble arises from overlooking crucial design details, such as the placement of floor waste gullies in bathrooms. When these gullies are positioned at the highest point of the floor, they fail to perform their job effectively. This results in overflowing water spilling into other areas, like hallways, causing additional headaches. It's not just about drainage- it's about the fundamental purpose of having a floor drain. Reporting these oversights is essential to ensure that your new build meets the quality and safety standards you expect. 🔗 www.redlbp.co.nz ☎ 0800 113 191 📧 info@redinspect.co.nz

🍃Inspired by Nature. Rooted in Family. Boutique interior design firm - Westchester, NY Renovations, New Builds & Furnishings 🍂 470+ National Features
(Don’t) Shake That! 🪜 As the builders prepare to climb to the top of the chimney to measure and install the siding, they give the ladder a few shakes to secure it in place. I watch with awe and fascination as the builder begins his ascent. While I might feel a bit uneasy at the sight of such heights, the builder is calm and composed. His confidence is evident, honed by countless hours of practice and the steady support of another builder holding the ladder securely at the base. Outside, the siding goes up, while inside, the painters work their magic. It’s a reminder that a home renovation truly takes teamwork from all angles…pun fully intended! #EveryDayTheirShuffling #PartyRock #ClapClap #Ladder Design @ninashomedesign GC @bernardinibuilders . . #ninashomedesign #instascrollstoppingdesign #architexture4life #trendsettingismyjam #westchesterny #greenwichct #connecticutliving #newyorkfamily #natureinspireddesign #natureinspiredhome #multigenerationalhome #residentialinteriordesign #inspotoyourhome #renovationspecialists #newbuildhomes #elledecor #interiorarchitecture #designwithpurpose #luxuryinteriordesign #livableluxury #prettylittleinteriors #connecticuthome #newyorkinteriordesigner #newbuilds #connecticutinteriordesign #westchesternymoms

Drywalls - aka plasterboards or gypsum boards - are a building and renovation material that are gaining popularity when it comes to interior design and architectural solutions. Drywalling is a simple alternative for non-load-bearing interior walls and ceilings - be that in reconfiguring homes or creating partitions in office spaces. The benefits of drywall solutions and accessories include the following: cost-effective, durable, easily available, quick to install, and easy to cut. Is sound transfer in your home stressing you out? Horizon's Tim Agar talks with Spruce Magazine about how to design and build a quieter, more peaceful home. ➡ Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/grzRUTaY Not all sound is bad, but the consequences of negative sound transfer can be serious. Luckily, there are a number of architectural solutions out there to minimize sound and bring a sense of peace to a home. It starts with the walls and ceiling, which have the ability to control the acoustics in individual rooms. The materials used here are key. Reflective surfaces like windows and hardwood floors are great at projecting sound. Substituting in concrete floors or adding design elements like carpets and draperies can go along way in minimizing that sound. When installing appliances and mechanical systems, it helps to have a strategy with acoustics in mind. Placing these systems away from bedrooms and windows is a great start, and adding acoustical lining to duct chambers will make a noticeable difference. ➡ Check out the full article to learn more: https://lnkd.in/grzRUTaY #acoustics #homeacoustics #customhome #custombuilt #architecture #yyj

Designing is not just decorating. In fact decorating is the cherry on top of a comprehensive design project: The Progress on site for the Little Sweet Calbung. This darling double brick, apart from a bathroom update and small addition out the back, hadn’t been touched in decades. The original owners still lit the fires at night to stay warm. We’ve worked through the design of the new interior layout, one that will not change the original intent of the California Bungalow ethos, and now we are working through the fundamentals of a solid foundation on which to restore her. Fundamentals for a solid base to build the new interiors include addressing moisture and water ingress with tanking and drainage upgrades, restumping, removing damaged floors and joists, insulation, an electrical & lighting plan to enable re-wiring and three phase upgrade and drawings for new plumbing. We’ve also worked through options for hydronic heating; underfloor vs panels and have established a panel layout. Soon we will start reframing walls and then linings begin.. and rough in.. stay tuned! #interiordesign #interiordesignprojectmanagement #antipodejones

Check out this local Case Study!
Student living quarters receive an Altro upgrade... 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦: Stonehill College needed to update some of their student bathrooms and kitchen spaces to make life easier for both the students who use them, and the staff responsible for making sure these areas remain clean. 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: KSID Architecture and Interior design firm, based in Massachusetts, was selected for the design project. Due to the nature of who would be using the finished product, KSID needed a wall cladding solution that was cost-effective, durable, and most importantly, easy to clean. Working closely with Altro sales representatives, KSID decided to move forward with Altro Tegulis because of its traditional tile look and feel, something that could replace the old tile walls that were originally installed in the showers and be used in the kitchenettes as a hygienic backsplash. You might think the work interior designers do is just play with color and decor but it can be quite complex and doesn't necessarily start out pretty. Sometimes we start with a blank slate but often times we're renovating old and poorly or awkwardly constructed spaces. And if we're retiling and moving plumbing, electrical and appliances, it can be quite messy—see for yourself in this sneak peak of an apartment demo! There's a lot of thought that goes into making spaces functional, safe, and beautiful. Every space has a story. Let us design yours. #tobedesigngroup #behindthescenes #demo #demolition #remodel #renovation #interiordesign
TOBE Tuesday ✨ This is what midway through construction looks like! In our industry we can't wait to showcase finished work but it's equally important to highlight the journey and, if we're being honest, it isn't always pretty! The demo for our Ontario project is complete and we've run new electrical and plumbing. To keep things rolling while we await permitting, our contractor has prepped kitchen walls to frame a soffit and install upper cabinets—leaving plumbing exposed for inspection. Once inspections are approved, walls can be enclosed and finishing touches installed like tile, base cabinets and decorative fixtures. With proper planning, the journey may not always be smooth, but the process is nonetheless magical. Stay tuned for more progress on this small apartment remodel. Every space has a story. Opening up a basement staircase wall does more than add design interest (though it certainly does that, too!) Eliminating one or both walls enclosing the stairs make the area feel spacious and light—more like a natural extension of your existing home and less like a dark tunnel. #basementfinish #homeremodel #openhandrail #coloradobasements
