I am thrilled to share that a first article I wrote together with Thea Jepsen and Niels O. G. Jørgensen has been published by Springer Nature Group in the scientific journal Agroforestry Systems! This article is the result of a two-months fieldwork in Northern Ghana conducted in 2022 on shea tree agroforestry systems, their population structure, management of trees and impact of below canopy microclimate. If you are interested in reading the article, you can find it here: https://lnkd.in/dMSBahqZ.

🌐 CIRAWA brings together 14 partners from nine countries in Africa and Europe. Each one of them are invaluable to the success of the CIRAWA project, so let’s get to know them better! 👤Who? Founded in 1974, the Institut Senegalais de Recherches Agricoles (ISRA, Senegalese Institute for Agricultural Research) aims to improve research and development around public agricultural policies with an objective to contribute to increased food security, and reducing poverty. 🔍What do they do? ISRA has research centres and laboratories distributed across Senegal, with a multidisciplinary team of researchers with expertise in crop production, animal production, forestry, and socio-economic activities, among others. 💪What is their role in the project? In the CIRAWA project, ISRA works on the definition and development of saline soil reclamation strategies and agro-residue valorisation strategies. ISRA also promotes efficient use and management of water resources. They are also responsible for implementation and monitoring of CIRAWA activities in Senegal. ➡️ Learn more about ISRA here https://isra.sn/ and meet the rest of our consortium here https://lnkd.in/ebSxCuDc
