“Finally, after years of war, we feel there is freedom. It's a crazy, crazy feeling that I can't explain. Before, we were so suppressed. My friends who are Syrian, who are in Germany, and in the UK, everywhere - everyone had the same reaction – we were calling each other, we were all so happy. I felt my identity had been rebuilt.” Esther came to the UK as a refugee with her parents, when she was a teenager. She has now spent half her life in the UK. Like many people from Syria, she is happy, but also concerned about what happens next. “It is so difficult to see some of the images on TV, especially of the people being released from the prisons. All of my friends have a poster of someone they know who is missing. They still don't know if they are dead. In every family, there's been someone who's been missing, and now we're just looking for them. At the moment, it's a very uncertain time. If the situation improves, a lot of my friends, they are willing to go back. None of my people chose to be refugees. They really want to rebuild the country they know – the country where we belong. But it's very unsafe right now in Syria, very dangerous. There's no government. We’re waiting for a sign of what's going to happen in the future.” “It’s very difficult to call two places home. I’ve lived half my life in Syria, and half of it in the UK. Syria is my home, and the UK is the place that welcomed me. You love them both, I think equally.” We are standing with refugees from Syria, at this emotional time. Read more of Esther’s story on our website: https://bit.ly/41Hs55H

Urgent medical care for displaced Syrians from #Lebanon Since the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon on September 23, northwest Syria continues to see a steady influx of Syrians who have been living as refugees in Lebanon to northwest Syria. As of October 16, an estimated 4,000 people had crossed from northeast Syria into northwest Syria through the Aoun al-Dadat crossing. Over 80% of households are women and children (Source: UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency). As part of our commitment to supporting those in need worldwide, our local partner Independent Doctors Association IDA has established a medical point equipped with an ambulance to refer critical cases to a nearby hospital at Al-Ghanoura district, in northwest Syria, which is supported by Malteser International and funded by Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) Germany. N O • B O O T S • O N • T H E • G R O U N D 🐎🚚 American-special-forces-terrorists infiltrated Gaza as "Aid Workers" to try freeing the Israeli hostages. As soon as they were discovered by locals, Israel bombed the whole area at the Al Aqsa hospital vicinity to create an escape route for the American terrorists. This has led to 4 freed hostages, but Israel has killed the other Israeli hostages together with 300+ Palestinians and 700+ wounded with the most being women and children. Keep in mind that the "Aid-pier" they have build at the shore of Gaza...to deliver "Aid"... cost $300 million dollars + an additional cost of $22 million dollars for repairs because it got damaged by the waves during it's build. Why do I mention this? Firstly, anybody that was a 100% sure that the West, especially North America and Western Europe were the good guys and never lie to their own civilians really has to wake up from their political coma's. This pier was never about aid, we have been telling you this from the word go. Secondly, this failed mission cannot be repeated again. They have exposed this failliure of a trojan horse to the resistance. It has failed the first time, so they won't even try it a second time. Also, US cannot justify it, I'm sure Blinken and Miller are already preparing their tomorrow's speeches in front of the mirror by now. Thirdly, we have paid $322 million to free 4 hostages. That's $80 million per hostage. There is so much wrong with this sentence. It is "We" who paid for it through our tax Dollars, Pounds and Euros. This is what our taxes are funding. This money could actually have been contributed to the Palestinian cause in Aid! For the racists among you, it could have benefitted you in your own countries; Healthcare, schooling, housing, jobs, you name it. Instead you are blaming the refugees all around the world for your shortcomings. You made them refugees, you terrorized, occupied their homeland. Stop funding bombs and weapons, invest in your own countries first. And lastly, check your local & international mainstream media and your countries representatives. They are all applauding the freeing of the 4 hostages. Did any of them mention the killings of 300+ Palestinians and other Israeli hostages during this "mission"? They want to control the narrative, it's important for them to say and mention the freeing of 4 hostages, so that they can lie to the world: Look, you see? We're the good guys. We succeeded! I will conclude with the following quote; “So please tell us what is the new exchange rate for killings between Palestinians and Israelis,” asked Egyptian comedian Bassem Youssef in the popular American TV show Piers Morgan Uncensored which went viral. Credits go to Zach Matari. #BreakTheSilence #CeaseFireNow #StopGazaGenocide #FreePalestine

Today is #WorldRefugeeDay . Pretty Deadly Self Defense has been supporting the refugee community all around the world since we launched here in Berlin almost 10 years ago. We've had the honour of working with women from Syria, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Somalia, Ethiopia and Ukraine. One of the reasons we chose Berlin as our launchpad back in 2016 was after reading an account of a father in the temporary refugee shelter at Berlin's Tempelhofer Aeroport stabbing another man for molesting his daughter. This account brought to mind the reports of demands for sex in exchange for essential items, as well as rampant sexual abuse and assault at the Superdome in New Orleans, where people sought refuge in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Gender based violence increases by 300% in displacement camps, whether it's the Superdome in New Orleans or the former Moria camp in Greece. Which means that people who are already traumatized from the environment they are escaping, experience compounded trauma when they experience violence where they seek shelter. And this does not include the sexual violence experienced on migrant routes, which are the most treacherous of all. Women and girls fleeing conflict or disaster in their home countries know they risk sexual violence and commonly get contraceptive injections as a precautionary measure before they embark on their journeys. No one chooses to be a refugee, and often people who are classed as "refugees" are the lucky ones -- the ones who can afford the high fees and tolls demanded to escape their environment. And women and girls more often than not pay those fees with their bodies, too. To provide basic tools that helps to re-establish confidence and a healthy connection with their bodies is at the core of our work with refugee communities. We're proud of the work we have done and the work we continue to do, but mostly we are grateful that we can contribute something tangible that makes make the transition to a new life feel even a little bit more secure. #worldrefugeeday #genderbasedviolence #climatechange #conflict #refugeeswelcomehere

People have often asked what has made the biggest impression on me since I moved to #Ukraine, working for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. While it is almost impossible to choose only one thing, I want to highlight the heartbreaking stories from some of the older people I have been privileged to meet and talk to. Some of them lived through WWII and had not expected that they would have to live through one more war. Many had hoped until the very last minute before they fled that they would be able to stay in their homes - houses they built themselves and on land that had been in their families for generations. It has really hit me hard, when Ukrainian babushkas (grandmothers) explain how they walked kilometers alone in the midst of shelling to escape their frontline village. Or when they recall how they were hiding in basements with no food, almost no water and completely isolated for days, when their communities were occupied in the beginning of the full-scale invasion. And when they mourn the death of their loved-ones and the tragedy of what is happening in their country. It is around a quarter of all the internally displaced people in Ukraine right now who are above the age of 60 years old – and they face additional hardships and vulnerabilities, being without networks, some with low mobility and health challenges. But the strength and resilience also continue to amaze me – and I’ve seen myself how any support and assistance people receive help not only to cover their needs but also to nurture that vital hope for the future that keeps them going. If you have two minutes, watch this video below - and then just consider, what if this was your grandmother or grandfather? #HumanitariansAtWork

WARNING: About Creeping Invasions that Threatens US Tourism and National Security. In 2017, we warned the United Nations and The White House about the dangers of unchecked immigrants, thereby proposing a terminal solution towards establishing Permanent US and UN Security Refugee Camps globally on each Nation Borders made of Bulletproof and Bombproof for safety of innocent civilians. Our tender, received via DHL on December 5th, 2017, fell on deaf ears. Now, the UN and President Joe Biden's Administrations should be held accountable for the consequences of their inaction. If Kamala Harris wins this election there will be terrifying insecurity on American soil. We strongly believe in Donald J. Trump stands with workable Diplomacy to end Russia invasions against Ukrainians within one month in office, if elected. They tried sentencing Donald J. Trump for saying the truth, but we can't ignore the truth anymore. Our proposed Worldwide US and UN Security Refugee Camps could have prevented the recent crisis such as violation of innocent Americans by illegal immigrants. We urge the UN and the White House to adopt our Multi-Billion Dollar Peace Projects, including the construction of Permanent United Nations Security Refugee Camps in every nation's borders, to be managed by US and UN Peacekeeping forces. This would address war outbreaks and prevent illegal immigrants, ensuring sustainable tourism and economic development in America and beyond. As I said in 2017, "A nation stands to gain sustainable tourism for development under the climate of peace." It's time we consider sensitivity and solutions, not the usual political games geared with negligence to our African UN Youth dynamic ideas. Let's work together to establish a secure and peaceful world for all mankind. (Charles Chidi Paradise Feedback to UNHCR the un refugee agency). Globally, more than 122.6 million people — 1 in every 67 — are forcibly displaced from their homes due to persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations and other threats. They cannot return without risking their lives, safety or freedom. Urgent action is needed to address this growing human tragedy.
