Such an important lesson. When you say “no” you’re drawing a boundary. It makes you strong and keeps you safe. And when you raise your standards you’re standing up for your convictions. People will gaslight you saying your attitude is all wrong. 😑 Don’t listen to them. Be kind, be compassionate, but be strong and safe, with integrity.

What an insightful session this was! 3 Key takeaways for me: 1. Just as I would prepare to run a marathon, so I need to prepare for the NED journey. This means bracing myself for the journey ahead, training hard (by keeping in touch with relevant industry trends and research, brushing up on NED competencies, networking), taking some time to rest and recover ( to take stock, and reflect ) and staying persistent. 2. Understand your purpose and use this understanding to guide the positions you take up. Relatedly, understand your value contribution. 3. Authenticity goes a long way- be honest about pursuing positions that resonate with who you are.
