Do Not Despise Your Little Beginning My first job as a customer service personnel was in a fashion house. Funny enough, I applied for the role of a content creator but when I fully employed, I worked as both a content creator and a customer service personnel. It was so frustrating believe me. It was more like a what I ordered Vs what I got scenario. However, I stayed dedicated and I used my spare time to improve on myself by taking courses online. I never knew that my dedication in that fashion house as customer service personnel was preparing me for a bigger opportunity. With my little experience and acquired knowledge in that fashion house, I was able to pass my interview when I applied for the role of a digital support specialist in a Fintech company. But the big question I usually asked myself is; what if I had despised my little beginning and I choose not to be dedicated in that fashion house? Or what if I had resigned because I was doing a job I never applied for? I wouldn’t have had the experience to be employed as a digital support specialist in a Fintech industry. You may not be working with your dream organization yet. You may even be joggling between two different roles with a little pay in your company; hey, keep pushing, keep growing, keep learning, don’t give up until you get an opportunity with your dream organization😊. In 2022, I needed a career change, I wanted to transition away from retail and was eager for a new and exciting challenge, I just didn't know exactly what that was. Nutmeg stood out to me and I decided to take a gamble and apply. I had nerves that I would be rejected because I didn't have an in-depth knowledge of ISAs, Pensions or investing. But what I did have was an extensive background in working with, helping and connecting with people. I was fortunate enough to be successful and in July 2022, I joined their Client Services teams. Nutmeg taught me everything I needed to know to be successful in my role and coupled with my background and ability to connect with people; I've found the challenge I was desperately seeking two years ago and I've enjoyed great career progression and opportunities' over that time. As I am currently interviewing for a new role, I am always asked what sets me apart from others seeking the same job. So I wanted to share my thoughts on the importance of building relationships. In the evolving landscape of retail, navigating the changes brought by the pandemic has been crucial. As a Client Advisor, adapting to the shift towards online shopping and casual attire has been essential. Quality over quantity has become the mantra, focusing on building lasting relationships with clients. Creating a personalized experience for each client, akin to welcoming them into one's home, fosters loyalty and trust. Understanding their preferences and needs through meaningful conversations is key. It's about going beyond transactions to offer genuine care and attention. In a world where foot traffic fluctuates, the art of customer relationship-building stands out. Establishing a network of loyal clients who value personalized service becomes a lifeline during challenging times. It's not just about making a sale; it's about creating an unforgettable experience. Taking a personalized approach, asking the right questions, and actively listening are the cornerstones of successful client interactions.
