HHS rescheduling of cannabis is a crucial first step towards potential full legalization. Acknowledging its medicinal benefits challenges its Schedule 1 status. Which clearly states that substances on the schedule have no medicinal benefit. While removing it from the Schedule entirely would be ideal, a shift to Schedule 3 still eases the path for cannabis businesses. I am excited to engage in discussions and contribute to solutions that support thriving businesses, address social justice concerns, and ensure access for medical patients seeking relief.
