HHS rescheduling of cannabis is a crucial first step towards potential full legalization. Acknowledging its medicinal benefits challenges its Schedule 1 status. Which clearly states that substances on the schedule have no medicinal benefit. While removing it from the Schedule entirely would be ideal, a shift to Schedule 3 still eases the path for cannabis businesses. I am excited to engage in discussions and contribute to solutions that support thriving businesses, address social justice concerns, and ensure access for medical patients seeking relief.

Sooo Huge! IRS 26 U.S. Code § 280E only applies to Schedule 1 and 2, so this would change the economics of the industry. Not sure what so other people are talking about saying it won’t make a difference. Being unable to claim business expenses has kept Calm Downs out of the business but now… Let’s do this for all natural medicines next!
