“The University of Alabama isn’t just shaping minds; it’s shaping economies and futures.” -President Bell For the 2020-2021 academic year, the Capstone remained steadfast and resilient in its contributions to the state with an economic impact that approached a near-record of $2.948 billion despite the declining effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on enrollment and visitor impacts. Along with the economic impacts made to the state and the city of Tuscaloosa during that time, UA saw an increase in the number of in-state undergraduate students and set a then-record Graduate School enrollment in fall 2020. UA also employed 6,947 faculty & staff along with several thousand student workers all while avoiding furloughs & cuts. 👏 Learn more about UA's positive impact during 2020-2021 → https://bit.ly/3IVb5yf #WhereLegendsAreMade #RollTide

Congratulations to President Renu Khator and the entire University of Houston community for this incredible achievement! Being ranked among the top 50 public universities by Forbes is no small feat—it reflects years of dedication to student success and a strong commitment to driving real outcomes. This moment serves as a reminder that every investment in education, whether it’s time, effort, or resources, is never wasted. As we celebrate this milestone, it’s also a powerful example of how past achievements—and even past struggles—become the foundation for future growth and impact. I truly believe that Nothing is a Waste when we leverage both our successes and our challenges to drive change and open doors for others. Let this serve as a platform for continued transformation, both for the university and its students, who are now equipped to shape the future. What past experiences have you been able to turn into a platform for growth in your own journey? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. #StudentSuccess #HigherEducation #NothingIsAWaste #LeverageThePast #TransformingLives #FutureLeaders #ImpactfulGrowth #UniversityofHouston #GrowthMindset #Leadership

I am 100% in favor of this ... and hope this practice picks up nationwide, including Massachusetts (and my alma mater). I believe this is a great step forward for the universities, and ultimately our society. So many employers continue to use a candidate's college rank or prestige as a shortcut for assessing talent. As long as that terribly flawed practice remains in place, it is imperative universities admit candidates based on merit and other factors directly within the candidates' control. #collegeadmissions #universityrecruiting
