German startup airline EVIA AERO GmbH has signed a letter of intent with Britten-Norman to purchase 15 Britten-Norman Islander aircraft. According to Evia, the aircraft acquired from Britten-Norman will commence delivery at the beginning of 2027. These aircraft will then be converted to zero-emissions platforms powered by hydrogen fuel-cell propulsion systems. Florian Kruse, CEO at Evia Aero said: “We are fully committed to the Britten-Norman Islander. The aircraft fulfils all the skills we need as an operator for short-haul flights.
