"Embracing the Hustle: A Journey Through Tenacity and Opportunity #CareerGrowth #LogisticsLife At the young age of 14, I stepped into the working world and haven't stopped since. It's been a ride filled with unexpected turns and valuable lessons. There were times when I juggled two jobs simultaneously, a testament to my commitment to making ends meet. It wasn't easy, but it instilled in me a work ethic and resilience that I carry to this day. In one of my roles as a logistics coordinator, I often worked extra hours, not because I had to, but because I wanted to ensure my customers were taken care of and that the company I worked for could excel and grow. This dedication didn't go unnoticed. It opened doors and presented opportunities that I couldn't have imagined, shaping my career path in ways I never expected. These experiences, while demanding, have been incredibly rewarding. They've shown me that sometimes, what seems like a setback can actually be a setup for something greater. The extra hours and the double shifts weren't just about endurance; they were about paving a path to a future filled with possibilities. To anyone out there grinding, putting in the extra hours, or facing unexpected career twists, remember this: Your journey is unique, and every step, even the challenging ones, is leading you to greater opportunities. Have you had similar experiences in your career? How have they shaped your path? Let's share our stories and celebrate the resilience that drives us forward in the logistics and transportation industry. #HustleHard #OpportunityKnocks #LogisticsLeadership

Given the volume of opportunities becoming available in the Middle East we thought we would re-share the below from our COO Guy Keen, first hand experience of the region... Top 3 Pro’s & Con’s of working in the Middle East With all the work opportunities we have in the Middle East I’ve been asked a few times what it’s like to work over there, so here’s my top 3 pro’s & cons from my time over there. Pro’s 1. Probably like most, No.1 is the overall Package – great salaries, work-life balance, sports and social activities and the sunshine to enjoy them. 2. The Welcome – I’ve been fortunate to travel to many parts of the world and I’ve been to some very friendly and welcoming places though nothing gets close to the welcome you get in the Middle East 3. Safety – I’ll admit this was not something I expected before I went out, I was most pleasantly surprised by how safe and relaxed I felt – crime is virtually unheard of, people are so friendly, I can honestly say I’ve never been so chilled out as I was out there. Con’s 1. The roads – driving is a challenge, you need eyes in the back of your head and the peak times are just best avoided. 2. The administration - pace of life is just slower in the Middle East, this has its benefits but also means things rarely happen quickly, for paperwork you just need to plan in advance. 3. The peak heat and humidity – most the time the weather is great, wall to wall sunshine, but in the peak of summer especially when the humidity is high it is just punishing. I often wondered how people managed to get by in the days before air-con. In summary I had a great time, it’s not for everyone but for me the pro’s significantly outweighed the con’s and if my family circumstances were different I would certainly be looking to go back out. We'd be interested to hear the views of others, do you agree or do you have a do have different top 3’s – please add your comments? #middleeastjobs #fireandrescuejobs

Feeling stuck & unmotivated? Not anymore! I help you fall unapologetically in love with your 9 to 5.
💩 Only read if you've had a bad week at work... 💩 If you’ve had a bad week, I’m really hoping this will help you by me sharing some of the dumbest stuff I have ever done in work 🤦♀️ At least then maybe, you can leave your work week in the past & hopefully have a little giggle at my expense! I’m slightly mortified I’m actually sharing this with you, documented, in writing… So, here goes nothing! 1️⃣ I once sent an email to a relatively Senior Director at work (instead of my friend) calling them a tw*t. Literally all the email said it was “TW*T.” 2️⃣ I sent a DM message bitching about a work colleague, TO THE COLLEAGUE, I was bitching about. The person hadn’t read it by the time I had realised what I had done and then I had to stand by their desk, AS THEY READ THE DM. 3️⃣ I reminded a client quite firmly & completely not tactfully, one time about all the free work we had done for them when they were trying to get more work at a heavy discount. To say they gave me a b*llocking is an understatement. The silent treatment from my manager on the car journey back to the office was the cherry on top. I hadn’t heard of saying “The customer’s always right” at the time. 4️⃣ I received a £250 voucher for excelling in a certain job & I responded to HR saying “I think they’ve messed up, I don’t think this is for me.” Low confidence much? 😳 5️⃣ I was in the midst of being at risk of redundancy and I shouted “What do you want from me?” via Zoom at my manager. There was ugly tears too. BONUS 6️⃣: I was kicked out of University halls in my first year of Uni for stealing a statue. Nope. My parents still haven’t forgiven me 🙊 We all have crappy weeks & we all do dumb things, I always like to think it’s part of being human! So, I would like to take this moment to welcome you to the club! There’s 8 billion of us! #careeradvice #dreamjob #jobsearch #careers #careerdevelopment #careercoach #careercoaching

Logistics 'Placement Protocols'. Guarantee a candidate's suitability for employment, regardless of the logistics role they were recruited for.
It was daunting to walk into the Air & Ocean office on the first day in September 2004. Everyone seemed to be super busy and running around. Some people were on the phone with someone in another part of the world. I instantly knew that I was going to love this. I made it my mission that one day I'll be working and living abroad. Through my passion and determination, I was able to have an amazing career in the logistics world. Here's how I moved up from an entry-level operator to opening a new branch in another country: ➡ I always did more than what was asked. ➡ I learned a lot from the people I worked with. ➡ I was keen to understand how each department worked. ➡ I always tried to go the extra mile for the clients. ➡ I wasn’t afraid of hard work or extra tasks. ➡ I worked well with others and helped out my team. This post isn’t to brag. It's the opposite. I want to show you that it's possible to succeed with some determination. I don’t have a college degree and I don’t think I’m the smartest person out there. But working hard has paid off, and now it's helping me run my own recruitment business. I love this industry and it’s great to see new people do well in it. If you want to talk about how you can move up, I’m here to help. Keep growing! #logistics #transportation #recruiting
