This article provides excellent points. I am actually surprised to see the 24% estimates for representation. I would say based on my experience the percentage is lower and keeps on decreasing as you go up the ladder. I also noticed that a large percentage of women in cyber tend to get traditional female roles rather than core security engineering and data center resilience functions. While progress is being made, there is more to be done. In terms of the value women in cyber bring to the table from my own humble experience is having varied leadership styles that provide multiple perspectives on complex matters. It is always good to have diversity of thought and different ways to solve the same problem. As such, diversity brings a rich dimension to how to best handle cybersecurity issues. I myself do enjoy abstracting large and complex cyber issues by breaking them down into sizable chunks for pragmatic delivery. I coined the term “pragmatic security architecture” to cut through the fog of architecture complexity. Having strict and systemic security architecture engagement approach in handling large and complex cyber problems is an essential discipline. It is not enough to see the forest or the trees, but rather more important to see them both and focus on what is impacting the forest and the treas writ large in segmented domains. You have to have the ability to zoom in and out of a cyber situation quickly to better assess what needs to be done pragmatically and systematically. #womenincybersecurity #diversityintech #cyversity
AGREE? "A recent discovery by Dice Research revealed that women generally possess 52.5 percent more soft skills than men in four key areas - leadership, interpersonal abilities, analytical skills, and personal attributes. This highlights the untapped potential of women in the cybersecurity sector and shows the significance of promoting more diversity and inclusion in organizations." https://lnkd.in/gY_rFy-J
