I have been trying to finish my job for the last three months. Now my notice period is also about to end. My notice period will also end on October 31st so my job search experience till now .First of all there were no hiring opportunities in Gurgaon. If some are coming out then it is in cities like Noida, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Lucknow. There is nothing wrong in this but here also either the call does not come for the interview or it takes more than 20 days for an interview. Apart from that, some organizations also talk about conducting interviews in offline mode. The problem is that it seems that in such a big city like Gurgaon where there are unlimited organizations, there is no hiring taking place. In the last 11 years, I have never faced any such problem in job search. And the most important thing is that till date, I have never joined any organization on the basis of anyone's reference. Wherever I worked, I maintained good relations with people on the basis of my work. I feel that just as it is necessary to have relations and money to get a government job, the same has now come into private jobs as well. The relation has come, now soon we will hear the news that now one will have to give a bribe to get shortlisted in a private job. This is a matter of shame... Figured out a few basic differences based on my observations: (You are welcome to add more in comments.) With 3.4 years of experience in Recruitment and 2 companies later, both startups, with 1.8 years each in a Recruitment Consulting Company (Moving forward RCC) and a Corporate Company (Moving forward CC), 1. RCC - Is the 3rd party (vendor, additional help, or expertise) and mostly the only function. CC - Recruitment is just an inbuilt function of an entire HR department, hence, all the functions work in sync. 2. RCC - Recruitment is their bread & butter (revenue making) CC - Recruitment is a costly affair; hence, they negotiate to the tee. 3. RCC - Recruitment is and should be target & incentive based. CC - Recruitment is and should be TAT-based but also culture fit-based. 4. RCC - They can and will rotate a candidate among multiple companies. CC - They should and will not rotate a candidate, even in internal departments (until there is a skill mismatch). 5. RCC - Will fear backouts since income is directly proportionate. CC - Should not fear backouts since a cultural misfit is avoided sooner than later. 6. RCC - Should focus on numbers, to make more money. CC - Should focus on TAT, attrition rate, replacement hiring frequency, along with their training cost and time invested, and finally cultural impact. 7. RCC - Pump bulk CVs to avoid duplicity and hit more closures. CC - Should be able to close in 4-5 CVs considering easy hiring manager access and manpower planning clarity. 8. RCC - You are just another client! CC - Welcome to OUR family! As basic as they may sound to you, Recruitment Consulting Company (RCC) survives on recruitment, and Corporate Company (CC) builds it's culture based on the recruited candidates' turned employees!!!
