Fours years ago, I was on stage at FinTech LIVE talking about standards and how to get the industry to adopt new technologies. Gabino Roche Jr and I reminded the audience of a recent retail standard between HD & Blu-Ray about a decade earlier. Remember when everyone was waiting to see whether Blu-Ray or HD was going to win the Hi-Def DVD war before they invest on a standardized platform? This is what’s happening in finance today. - They are waiting on Blockchain A vs Blockchain B to adopted. - Or they are waiting on Standard X vs Standard Z to be adopted. Even when a Standard gets adopted, then there are versions - Think FIX 4.2 vs FIX 4.4 - Then the need for FIX engines to translate between versions It will be an never ending waiting game, when there is a faster onramp. Finance firms can map their data to an intelligent cloud solution that’s interoperable and can translate their counterparties data needs.
