What an accomplishment for Fry Steel Company ! After reaching a 100% engagement rate with our Reliance Cares launch, they were awarded $10,000 to donate to the causes of their choice! Fry Steel is no stranger to charitable giving. They actively support local communities through their charitable program, “Fry Feels.” With a slogan that encourages its employees to “harness the power of compassion, empathy, and community to create a brighter and more equitable world,” Fry sent out a mass survey to find out what organizations were near and dear to the hearts of employees and their families. Responses were categorized by cause, then narrowed down to select organizations that supported those causes. The American Cancer Society and the Make-A-Wish America Foundation each received $2,500 due to the overwhelming response to engage with organizations that support those affected by cancer. Fry Steel also allocated $2,500 each to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati. The latter will be specifically utilized for constructing homes and renovating projects in close proximity to Fry's second location in Middletown, Ohio, which commenced operations in 2023. Kudos to the amazing team at Fry Steel Company for their unwavering dedication to giving back to their communities and making a positive change! #RelianceCares

Aggregate household wealth of middle-income Americans has decreased by 47% in the last 50 years (according to Pew Charitable Trust). This has a direct and significant impact on nonprofit fundraising efforts. It means that many of the "tried and true" annual supporters to your organization simply don't have the same level of capacity to give that they had when you first began partnering with them. It's also a key reason why the majority of all revenue growth in charitable giving (we've validated this in our annual donor studies at DickersonBakker) is coming from the top 2-5% of donors today. If you don't have a strategy to engage, retain, and build long-term partnerships and relationships with major donors, your organization will continue to struggle financially over the next decade.

Let's talk about why you might be struggling to ask for donations with confidence and urgency. It's a common issue that many fundraisers face, and it often comes down to a lack of connection to the cause. Take a moment to think about the impact your organization is making in the world. Whether it's fighting cancer, providing clean water, or rescuing animals, there's a powerful reason behind your fundraising efforts. It's urgent and important, but sometimes we lose sight of that urgency in the day-to-day grind of fundraising. To rekindle that sense of urgency, try immersing yourself in the cause. Visualize the people and animals you're helping, feel their struggles, and let your heart break for them. When you ask for donations from this place of deep empathy and connection, your words will carry more weight and conviction. Give it a try and see how it transforms your approach to fundraising. #fundraising #donations #nonprofit #charity #causes #impact #fundraiser #makeadifference
