Stage 7 of the #8Pframework Drawing parallels to the growth journey of the Chinese Bamboo Tree, we see how perseverance plays a vital role in navigating challenging conversations. The tree's initial years of patient nurturing and hidden progress underscore the value of persistence, despite a lack of visible progress. Akin to the tree's sudden growth spurt in the fifth year, individuals facing challenging discussions can benefit from unwavering determination and resilience. Just like the tree's exponential growth was supported by a strong root system, successful conversations require a solid internal foundation built through perseverance and character development. Embracing these qualities can help individuals weather difficulties, foster meaningful dialogues, and ultimately achieve lasting success in communication and relationships. By investing in the elements of the #8Pframework you will build a strong root system that will support and help you achieve your goals during difficult conversations. Be patient and persevere! #yournextmove #perseverance #thebureauconsultancy

A paradigm is a mental program that has almost exclusive control over your habitual behavior. Below are five common thought patterns that may be part of your mental programming. If you find one or more that describe how you think in certain situations, adopt a new perspective, such as the ones below, to help you shift your paradigm and enjoy a more expansive and fulfilling life. 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗺: "I’m not confident, so I won’t do it." 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: "I am bigger than any feeling or experience." 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗺: "I’ll never make enough money for financial security." 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: "I am excited about my financial prospects." 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗺: "One day, I’ll…" 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: "Today, I’ll do something that excites and inspires me." 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗺: "I can’t." 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲:"If I really want it, I can do it." 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗺: "Something’s going to go wrong." 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: "Every moment is an opportunity to grow." Escape the artifacts of problem solving to be more effective. In my latest Quarterly Insight (https://lnkd.in/ezFfruMW), I wrote how mastering one type of problem solving could make your company vulnerable to competition. We need to break away from the productized solutions we are training ourselves to use and get back to first principles. Think of problem solving as just another mental model you have committed to memory. Like all heuristics, we need to revisit them to make sure of their validity. Zunger has three rules he uses to solve problems: · Know where you want to get to · Love the problem, not the solutions · Technology must be phenomenal While these seem to be more or less guidelines, they do keep one focused on the task at hand. Not all situations require technology. So, if you are going to employ it, make it pivotal. Do your employees know how to use a certain method really well, or do they know how to solve problems? #heuristics #problemsolving #mentalmodels https://lnkd.in/dnFXJHfC

Some see Soft Systems Methodology as a set framework for inquiry and problem solving, but one may also see it as a set of principles for dialogue for exploring various perspectives. Soft problems are difficult to describe, and there are many views about it, and problems involves humans, which makes it more complex. Trying to understand and find ways to act on them takes place within a context of a very complex human social world. Traditionally, the emphasis of SSM is on the problem, but bringing in and understanding the social context as well, potentially enriches its usefulness. #systems #systemsthinking #softsystemsmethodology #complexity #socialcomplexity #humansystems #petercheckland https://lnkd.in/gSMh9VcG

A good tactic to use in reflection (and also problem-solving) is the 3 WHY technique – it involves asking the question ‘why’ three times to figure out the real cause or answer to a question or problem.
