Over the last couple of weeks, we have set aside plenty of time to get to know our new team member, Ann Smith. Our snippet of inspiration for this month is ‘Slow down to speed up’ and it certainly can be applied to onboarding – the more time we can spend getting to know each other and understanding how we like to work, the better we can perform as a team. A key part of our onboarding process includes a questionnaire that asks our new team member some of their favourite things... We call it the getting to know you part of the induction process. The questions we ask include: ➡️ Favourite type of food ➡️ Favourite drink ➡️ Favourite snack ➡️ Favourite book ➡️ Favourite flower ➡️ Favourite music ➡️ Favourite movie ➡️ Favourite sport ➡️ Interests ➡️ Hobbies. Taking the time to know a new staff member not only strengthens team dynamics but also contributes to a workplace culture where every member feels valued, supported, and motivated to contribute their best to the collective success of the organisation. #compliancelab #team #onboarding #success

What do you do when your new hire orientation group nearly exceeds your space capacity and you need to do an ice breaker / team building activity? Move it to the long hallway and orchestrate a speed intros round robin session. Our Chief People Officer joined in to balance out the pairings. The intros are her favorite part of these sessions, after all. It was our first time experimenting with this method and it was well received! You can bet we will continue to use it for larger groups. #onboarding #newhires #networking #PacificProud
