Very insightful case study about the productivity loss due to technology complexity and toggling between apps, I loved the phrase "Toggling Tax" "The study found workers toggled roughly 1,200 times each day, which adds up to just under four hours each week reorienting themselves after toggling — roughly 9% of their time at work" I’ve seen this firsthand in my process mining deployments in different organizations. The loss is not just in productivity but also in tech/apps costs, lack of standardization, challenges to sustainable scalability, onboarding costs, and colleague burnout. To solve this, companies should invest in colleague experience just like they invest in customer experience (i.e. measure, simplify workflows and technology complexity)

Why are technology companies leading the push for employees to return to the office, when it is their products that enabled people to work remotely to begin with? Do they want their customers act similarly and stop using their products? Is this hypocriscy as obvious as it seems to me or am I missing something? Thanks for your thoughts....

Everyone keeps talking about a shortage of skilled workers. In my opinion, productivity is the real elephant in the room for many companies.    Here are my 3 top productivity killers that might be doing more harm than a lack of skilled labor:    ❌ Outdated tech: Too many businesses are stuck using ancient tools and systems. They slow everything down and turn any task into a treasure hunt.    ❌ Inefficient processes: Processes often "grow" organically – but no one takes the time to actually document or improve them. They’re like tangled earbuds of doom.    ❌ Unnecessary manual tasks: Employees spend precious hours on things that software could handle in seconds. Hello, automation and AI are our best friends!    So, what’s the fix? Rethink and modernize processes to focus on real efficiency.    Because a productive team can accomplish more – with or without extra skilled workers.    What do you think?
