Technology Manager, U.S. DOE, Bioenergy Technologies Office

I'm excited to be working with colleagues in the other Sustainable Transportation and Fuels offices on developing the national strategy for decarbonization of the off-road transportation sector and we need stakeholder input to answer some key questions. ------- The U.S. Department of Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office, Vehicle Technologies Office, and Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office have jointly released a Request for Information seeking stakeholder input reduce off-road transportation emissions! Recognizing that the off-road transportation sector generates 10% of U.S. transportation greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the RFI aims to collect knowledge from stakeholders to guide actions regarding future propulsion technologies, research and infrastructure investments, and coordination to ensure the off-road sector is meeting or exceeding U.S. decarbonization milestones. To develop a national strategy to decarbonize the sector, three critical questions must be addressed: 1) What is the current state of the off-road vehicle fleet? 2) Which powertrain technologies are most promising for decarbonization of off-road vehicles? 3) What is the timeline for the off-road sector to transition to net-zero emission GHG technologies?   Summit your feedback by 6/7/24 to help meet the goals of the U.S. National Blueprint for Transportation Decarbonization, a landmark interagency framework to eliminate emissions from the transportation sector – including off-road – by 2050! https://lnkd.in/guVr9vKi
