🎉 Becoming HTS manufacturers 🎉 in line with our vertically integrated #stellarator mission and with HTS sales to fusion and non-fusion clients. The spaceship has entered the hangar. The spaceship is preparing for launch. Well, it is not a spaceship but this machine for HTS manufacturing looks like one and will propel Renaissance Fusion into the stardom of #fusionenergy and commercialization of high-temperature #superconductors (#HTS). The arrival of this cutting-edge Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) chamber of our conception marks a significant milestone for the company. The machine will produce high-quality HTS tapes of unusually large width, as well as HTS tapes of traditional 4-12 mm width but unusually large production volumes. “Our investment in advanced superconductor manufacturing underscores our dedication to being at the forefront of technological innovation." said Francesco A. Volpe, CEO of Renaissance Fusion, "We are excited about the capability this machine brings, not only for ourselves but for the industries that will benefit from large production volumes of high-quality HTS.” “We are very excited to announce the installation of our first MOCVD chamber, the result of many months of work by our talented design teams and those who support them.” Commented Patricia Johnson, the deputy head of the HTS Film Deposition Team. This initial line of production (and several others to come) will serve the rapidly growing HTS market in fusion, #windenergy, #electricitytransmission, #medicalimaging, #energystorage, and large, powerful, precise #magnets for “Big Science”, from #particleaccelerators to #synchrotrons. #cuttingedge #fusion #Superconductivity #HighTemperatureSuperconductor #HighTechManufacturing #chemical #mri #innovation #installation

Big production volume - that is the great! What will be a price of 1 kA*m of high temperature superconducting wire? As far as I know, REBCO HTC wires today are sold at price 50-100 USD/kA*m. Which is very high price comparing with NbTi or Nb3Sn low temperature wires marketing at on order of magnitude lower price. Because of it e.g. not so big SPARC tokamak's construction cost reaches 6 billion USD.
