Many are not aware that Air France's first few Aerospatiale-BAC Concorde aircraft were delivered in the airline's pre-1976 livery. Variations of this earlier color scheme had been used for decades by the French flag carrier. It was replaced by what could legitimately be called the very first "Euro-white" look. This is the design the company still uses, in slightly modified form, today. F-BTSC is seen here in the old livery, having been photographed in early 1976 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Sadly is was -BTSC which became the first, and only, Concorde to be involved in a fatal crash (in the year 2000 on departure from this very airport). After a long grounding for safety modifications the Anglo-French supersonic transports were returned to service with Air France and British Airways in 2001. The type was then permanently grounded in 2003 due largely to continuing very low load factors during the worldwide air traffic downturn in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington D.C. Kicking off the Chinese new year, in Singapore for the next couple of weeks with the Airshow and then Aviation Festival Asia. Who else is here & keen to catch up? CarbonClick is the official Carbon Offset partner for both Changi Airport, and the Airshow presented by Experia Events (you can offset your journey there, via the Singapore Airshow event homepage). It’s a humbling experience to see the level of support in the region, for a more meaningful carbon offset experience, while the travel sector works on reducing the gross emissions in the first place. The general public perception is evolving in a very environmentally conscious way, with particularly younger generations wanting to make their travel count considering its impact, considering more environmentally conscious travel & lifestyle choices, and with the view that they want to do something positive to make up for the fact that they're travelling - which is where we are helping complete that journey with super meaningful carbon offset projects that help restore our planet, our biodiversity, and our climate. https://lnkd.in/gj3idAVS. Thanks to the teams at SA, Changi Airport Group, and Starburst Aerospace for the
