In my role as a Revenue Analyst in the transport industry, I work to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers throughout their travels. By providing information with the data gathered. The transportation sector is not just about trains and schedules; it's about creating a secure and seamless journey for each traveler. Recently, during a meeting with my director he mentioned about the prelonged discussion he had with the board about the type of bins to be provided at the station, I was then reminded of the meticulous attention given to every detail to ensure passenger safety and convenience. It's these seemingly small decisions that collectively contribute to the overall travel experience. Now that I work on the train industry my perspective has broadened. I find myself noticing and appreciating the thought and effort put into optimizing every aspect of the journey. Whether it's the signage for easy navigation, the facilities provided for convenience, or the safety measures in place, each element is designed with precision to make travel as smooth as possible. #C2C #TransportIndustry #trenitalia #RevenueAnalyst #PassengerSafety #TravelExperience #PublicTransportsector!🚊⭐️🚊

One of the first people to review the Airline Transition Manual was a lawyer who had worked with airline pilots for 20+ years. His very first piece of feedback was: “Wow, I’ve been advising pilots for years on this stuff and I never really understood why I was saying what I was saying until reading your book!” Our book aims to peek behind the curtain of what an airline pilot does daily. How do we get hired by our company? How do we train? How do we get our “routes?” How can you be sure your pilots are healthy? What does seniority mean? What are a pilot’s obligations to passengers and flight attendants? Are you the spouse or significant other of a pilot and want to learn more about your partner’s career? Maybe you are an operations specialist who has always wondered what exactly the pilots are doing up top during preflight. Perhaps you are one of the many other aviation professionals who work in the airline industry, and would benefit from better understanding how pilots train, structure their workdays, commute back and forth to work, build their monthly flight schedules, and what the pilot’s union is and does. Let us show you something of the “how” airline pilots make and manage their careers, while piloting passengers and cargo safely and efficiently around the country and the world. https://lnkd.in/gp_hsWHg

Recruiting Leader @ Zapier | Former Educator | Advocate for job seekers, demystifying recruiting, and making the workplace more equitable for everyone!!
United Airlines has been my airline of choice since they merged with Continental, and it's one of the few brands that has my absolutely loyalty as a customer. And currently, they are having success with "oversharing" around their delays - and it's working with greater customer satisfaction since implementing this strategy. This is something I've noticed in recent months. Looking at my texts, I can see where they let me know that we'd be delayed due to limits on the number of flights allowed to land due to construction at SFO. Another was a technical issue, with regular updates on their efforts to find a new plane. Most travelers know that delays are part of the game, and often outside of the control of airlines. I don't think most of us are unreasonable when faced with delays. The issue is often the lack of information - not knowing why the delay exists, what's being done about it, and estimates on when the issue will be resolved. Recruiting professionals out there, take note because we can learn something from this when it comes to candidate experience. Transparency builds trust, and it leads to a better experience for everyone involved. 1. Embrace the "no update update" Sometimes, just being told you need a bit more time to review an application or have scheduled all of the interviews needed can alleviate a lot of anxiety vs someone applying and sitting in an applicant pool for weeks or months on end! At Zapier, we try to communicate every 7 days...we may miss the mark sometimes, but our hope is that candidates are never wondering where they stand. 2. Share "the why" Airlines have always let us know when there's a delay - that's not new. But sharing the "why" behind it is. That can feel scary, especially if the news is something like, "we've extended an offer, but think you're amazing and if it doesn't pan out, we'd love to hire you". But candidates ultimately appreciate it, AND it shows them they can trust what your company tells them. Offering feedback after interviews is another way to do this and leave people feeling a less confused around rejections. 3. Tell people what to expect Let candidates know who they are interviewing with. Let them know what topics will be discussed. Tell them how you plan to set their compensation. The more information you can provide candidates, the better the experience will be for everyone. If any of these seem hard, there are tons of tools out there that can help. candidate.fyi creates a candidate hub making it easy to share this info directly with candidates (and empower candidates in a variety of other ways). Crosschq provides an arsenal of data, and one of my favorites is color-coding candidates so you can see when a candidate needs communication. And most decent ATSs will help you automate those "no update updates". It doesn't take significantly more effort to create a significantly better candidate experience - just lean into transparency!

So it’s 2024 and here is an example of how an under performing, over inflated product and national airline service - can no longer be sustained.. it has to be Eco Friendly and far more passenger availability in all regional areas… Each State in Australia needs frequent and low cost (1/4 of the previous airfare prices) to meet the viability of consumers wanting to Jet over to say Newcastle for a day and then home to Bathurst for example - and for the cost of the petrol on the trip or less that’s $150 ($75 each way)! Now you say ohh this is Absurd and your dreaming.. well no it is possible. By reinventing the type of Fuel and the Passengers being part of the community.. where the sustainable power is generated by Lithium X Sodium batteries - and pilot tested etc.. to fly like the Jetsons! 🛩️ We have this evident opportunity now to reset and readjust the whole of history into what will be sustainable, what is possible and the demand for Green Infrastructure is high. Thankyou for reading and grasping the changing landscape of energy and technology for a wider community that is not governed by big-corporations. 💫🦉🌱🐬
More than 600 jobs may be lost as regional carrier Rex Airlines enters voluntary administration, reports The Age. Rex confirmed all major capital city routes had been cancelled but regional services were operational. It also said EY had been appointed as voluntary administrators. “Regional Saab 340 flights are currently unaffected by the administration and will continue to operate. Domestic 737 services are grounded with Virgin Australia offering impacted Rex passengers free of charge rebooking,” the administrators said. In a video, EY administrator Sam Freeman reassured regional passengers saying, “The Rex Group has a long and proud history of servicing regional and remote communities across Australia and the administration provides the process to continue that legacy.” In a post on LinkedIn, Qantas offered to fly passengers with Rex bookings saying, “We know this will be a difficult period for many Rex customers and employees and we stand ready to assist.” The news comes after the airline halted share trading on Monday. Transport Minister Catherine King told Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) radio on Wednesday morning the government was investigating options for assisting the airline, saying it was "in everyone's interest Rex continues". Travel professionals are reacting on LinkedIn. Virginia Fitzpatrick, Regional Director APAC at Partnership Travel Consulting, writes: “It’s sad but almost not surprising. Hopefully the positive collaboration with Virgin Australia may turn out to be a good sign for both the affected customers and the industry.” What’s your reaction to the news and your outlook for Australia’s aviation future? How could the airline be saved? Share your perspective with others in the comments below. “The effects of uncertainty on objectives due to travel.” This is how ISO standard 31030 defines travel risk management. Quite simply, what this really adds up to is making work-related travel safer. Why should you manage travel risks? ✔️ Duty of care: In most countries, employers have a legal responsibility to care for staff when working, and this includes work-related travel. ✔️ Moral and ethical duty: Employers have a duty to keep employees safe when traveling on business and support them should something happen on a trip. ✔️ Reputation: Being a caring employer will help companies retain staff and attract new employees.
