reNature proudly presents the third Humans of Nature speaking about “Oltoilo Obo Loontomonok,” the “One Voice of Women.” This episode describes the challenges Kenyan women face in Laikipia County: their day-to-day activities, their care for the farm, the children, and each other. They are moving towards regenerative farming practices to return the original habitat to the land, making it lush and prosperous again.
In Laikipia, Kenya, reNature established a Model Farm and training to educate and inspire local female farmers, emphasizing climate-resilient agricultural practices. The project involves reintroducing native trees, enhancing biodiversity, and improving soil health, benefiting around 2,000 community members. It supports food security, economic resilience, and environmental restoration through sustainable farming methods.
The Leopold Bachmann Foundation supported this project and episode.
Thanks to Cecilia Saraiva, director, and joseph Lentunyoi of Laikipia Permaculture Centre Trust, for this amazing #documentary. And Emily Franklin for the project management.
