Happy #FoamRoof Friday, where we give you the inside scoop on why foam is your best choice for roofing. Reason #3: Foam is a renewable roofing system. Foam roofs stand out for their renewable nature, offering a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to traditional roofing systems. Unlike others that demand complete replacement at the end of their lifespan, foam roofs can be renewed by adding a new layer of foam and coating. This process saves money and minimizes waste, making foam roofs a sustainable choice. With proper upkeep, they can last for decades, delivering lasting value compared to tile or shingle roofs that may require more frequent replacements.

How do you handle ash from power plant operations? 🏭💡 Whenever energy is produced by burning solid fuels the result is a considerable amount of bottom ash. When bottom ash is extracted from the boiler some of the bed material, most typically sand, gets removed also. Our Drum Screen offers a new solution by separating three material fractions at once, allowing for the right ones to be recycled back into the boiler. It ensures that sand resources are not lost but reused assuring them a reborn life as bedding material for boilers. ♻️ Discover the potential of our Drum Screen in promoting a circular economy within the power industry and learn how we're helping to make waste usable again. Decarbonizing noise barrier walls can be annoying, just make it Whisper. Where are you at with decarbonizing your noise barrier walls? If a wood noise barrier wall uses mineral wool from Germany at 120kg/m3 and 40mm, the A1-A3 KGCO2e can be measured in an EPD, in the instance of our baseline example we have ignored the polyester protective layer, and we have disregarded the protective mesh; the emissions would be 5.56kg/m2. Acoustic properties broadly should attain EN 1793-1 (old category A3) absorption ie 8dB of absorption. Now I'd like to point out that I've used linear methods to undo the confusion of an EPD that doesn't allow for that density and uses kg/m3 instead of kg/m2..... more on that in other posts. Whisper NBO-40-A3 also gets A3 absorption of at least 8 (it's pre-tested); along with in-situ reflection of 5dB, from 23kg/m3 density material. GWP Total 2.95kg/m2. -46% CO2 reductions of the functional absorption material. The wood as pictured is an ideal partner material for Whisper because of the measurable CO2 emissions benefits with timber; and the fact they're usually heavy enough to have high transmission loss. Are you under pressure to decarbonize your noise barrier walls? Let's talk! I can help you to reduce the emissions of the functional absorption material; and fix your end of life strategy (it's RIC#4, compatible with LDPE foam recycling and also waste to energy). https://lnkd.in/ga4BQwZ8 (Whisper NB is all the way down the bottom) Whisper EPD: https://lnkd.in/e4_H4yjc

IS WOOD BURNING CARBON NEUTRAL? #woodburning #carbonneutral #CO2 #carbonfootprint I have received some criticism regarding my assertion that all wood burning is not carbon neutral. Specifically, I have highlighted the issue of sawdust and emphasized that even high-quality recycled wood may not be entirely carbon neutral. Additionally, there was a query about the specific values I employ in my own calculations. It's evident, through common sense, that utilizing wood material for applications such as furniture or construction materials, where it remains in carbon storage for nearly a century, differs significantly in environmental impact from simply burning it in a boiler plant, releasing CO2 the next day. The tree has spent the last 70 years absorbing that amount of CO2, and it will take an equivalent duration for a new tree to accomplish the same. For specific values, please refer to the table below, which outlines the metrics we employ in our own calculations.
