Water conservation is a critical global issue and one of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals Renesas supports. Here is how our manufacturing sites in Suzhou and Beijing, China, have are making progress through dedicated efforts. 💧2023 Basic Unit Improvement Rate: Beijing site achieved 33% and Suzhou site 30% in comparison to 2021 base year. 💧2024 Targets: 20% improvement in Beijing and 30.5% in Suzhou vs. 2021. 💧”Beijing Four-Star Green Factory” Award: In July 2024, our Beijing site received the highest-level certification by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economic and Information Technology. Takahiro Osawa, Director of Renesas Semiconductor (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., shared his insights. "As a semiconductor factory that uses a lot of water, protecting water resources is an important responsibility. As a member of the global community, we are working with a strong awareness of this issue. We believe that initiatives that contribute to sustainability will increase Renesas' corporate value. We hope to demonstrate the effectiveness of our water conservation activities to date and will continue to build on our efforts next year." Yongshu Li, President & General Manager of Renesas Semiconductor (Beijing) Co., Ltd. highlighted our commitment for continued improvement. "Because Beijing is one of the cities with extreme water shortages, we will continue to incorporate water-saving measures into our daily work, constantly explore possibilities for water conservation, increase the water recycling rate, and always use the latest information technology to accurately manage and further reduce water usage." Environmental Considerations in IC Substrates #icsubstrates #icsubstrate The IC substrate is one very important but easily ignore component in ensuring that an electronic device remains to be sustainable. This blog further discusses the ecological forces that influence IC substrates. Explores how the industry works towards environment friendly alternatives. Come with us to explore the secret behind one of the greatest problems within the electronic fields. The future of sustainability in electronic products is about to change. Currently, we realize that buyers make their decisions quickly, and therefore take into account aspects of sustainablity.qpointuation: We, as consumers, have the ability to choose behaviours which would aid our environment in achieving a less destructive state. This paper will explore in forthcoming sections the ecological effect of IC substrates focusing on the principal matters which make these substrates source of greenhouse gases emission. In addition, we will look at the existing mitigation practices already employed in the industry that strive towards environmental sustainability of an electronic sector. With such knowledge in mind, we are empowered to make sustainable choices by choosing those companies that care about the environment. Please click https://lnkd.in/gGz6nZ7N in details.

What would the perfect product of the future look like 🤔? Honestly, I have no idea 😉. But for sure this product of the future is not only #sustainable itself 🌲🌳, but also helps you achieving your #sustainability goals 🎯. It would be a product that is made of #nontoxic and #sustainablematerials 🌱. A product that has a #longlife because it is easy to #repair or #recycle ♻, and for which #updates or #upgrades are provided regularly. Of course it has to be #energyefficient. In other words, a product that generates a low environmental footprint 👣. A lot of additional requirements 🤔. How can you consider all of them 🤷♂️? With the #RobustEcoDesign approach we at #Siemens are integrating #ecodesign systematically into our product development process. Take a look at what we have achieved until now in low-voltage power distribution and industrial controls 👉 https://sie.ag/5hsyU2 #siemens #sustainability #lowvoltage #sustainableEP #carbonfootprint #decarbonization

Self-Cleaning Walls and Air: The future of modern workspaces Imagine walls that not only clean themselves but also purify the air around them. A pioneering research team from the Vienna University of Technology and the Università Politecnica delle Marche in Italy is turning this into reality. They have developed nanoparticles that can be added to ordinary paint, enabling it to use sunlight to activate self-cleaning properties. This revolutionary paint can not only tackle pollutants on the surface but also improve indoor air quality (IAQ), combating the 'sick building syndrome'—a condition where poor air quality significantly impacts the health of a building's occupants. Further studies are underway, with plans to make this self-cleaning paint commercially available in the near future. https://bit.ly/3w3CKuf #InnovationInTech #SustainableLiving #CleanTech #ModernWorkspace #HealthyBuildings #AirQuality #EcoFriendly #GreenTech #BuildingTechnology #FutureOfWorkSpaces
