The Great British Energy (GBE) has come to life across the energy sector, and with the newly elected Labor Government there is a hopeful shift towards sustainability. As commercial real estate owners grapple with environmental imperatives, companies in the renewable space like Syzygy find themselves at a pivotal juncture. Syzygy’s Project Manager Syed Humza Farhan, delves deeper into the implications of GBE’s creation for Syzygy’s client base. Humza’s detailed analysis breaks down the benefits of this initiative, such as reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels, lowering energy costs, creating jobs, and advancing towards a 2030 green energy target. While the benefits are substantial, he also considers what challenges lie ahead and the ways Syzygy can assist in seamlessly integrating renewable solutions. To understand more about GBE and what the new government has in store have a read of our latest article below. https://lnkd.in/eAsFSKCu

Syed Humza Farhan’s articles are always well worth a read. I may be biased, but his grasp of subject matter is second to none. Here he looks at and explains the Great British Energy company being set up by the new Government. If successfully delivered, and there is no reason why that shouldn’t be the case, this will be a game changer for UK #renewables. The fact that more of our off-shore wind assets, or indeed Solar farms were not government owned has always vexed me. Preferring to these to be funded by private equity, overseas sovereign wealth funds and overseas owned utility companies - none of whom have an aligned interest with UK energy consumers. There are very sensible returns to be made by investors whilst still being able to supply genuinely low-cost power - why we didn’t launch UK Green Government bonds when interest rates were 0.1% is astonishing. #netzero #netzerocarbon #windpower #solarpv #renewableenergy #decarbonising

Three wind farms will be built on forested land in Poland, financed by Danish investor Eurowind Energy. This is a pilot project that could revolutionize the approach to renewable energy sources in Poland. The planned windmills, with masts reaching 250 meters in height, are expected to provide energy self-sufficiency for the State Forests and benefits for local municipalities. 🌬️ However, the construction of wind farms in forests is also a controversial topic. What will be the real consequences for the local ecosystem, including birds and bats? How to balance wind energy development with nature conservation? 🌳 National Forests assures that the project will be carried out responsibly - with monitoring of environmental impacts and the use of modern technologies to protect birds from collisions. But the question remains: are windmills in forests the answer to green energy challenges, or do they create new environmental problems after all? What do you think about such investments? What other solutions can help develop green energy in harmony with nature? 🤔 I invite you to join the discussion! #energy #greenenergy #windmills #renewableenergy #sustainabledevelopment #windenergy #stateforests #cleanenergy #OZE #innovations

The United Nations International Day of Clean Energy is an opportunity for all of us to raise awareness of the universal benefits in adopting renewable sources of energy for the environment, and within our communities, transitioning to a low carbon economy and meeting our climate targets. Cedo is committed to the purchase of clean energy, as our Group Sustainability Director, Martin Burdekin, explains: “According to the United Nations, fossil fuels account for over 75% of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, which is why committing to the purchase of clean electricity has been central to reducing our own operational Carbon Footprint by 98% since 2019 (baseline year)." "All of our manufacturing centres and offices have now made this commitment as part of our group-wide Climate Action Plan.” Cedo continues to invest in green energy and energy efficient equipment within facilities, promotes electric vehicle usage amongst colleagues, and encourages clean energy procurement within the supply-chain. Burdekin added: “We are also currently investigating options to install on-site renewable energy generation in some of our manufacturing centres.” Find out more about the International Day of Clean Energy: https://lnkd.in/e8ezWtew #Cedo #CleanEnergy #GreenEnergy #SustainableBusiness

I’m thrilled to share my first professionally structured report, titled “A Comparison Between the Use of Renewable Energy and Fossil Fuels and Their Impact on the Environment” The report delves into a critical global issue: how our energy choices affect the environment. It explores the environmental, economic, and social implications of fossil fuels versus renewable energy sources. Key sections include: A comprehensive introduction to energy's role in modern civilization An analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of both energy types Practical case studies, such as Sweden’s innovative renewable energy policies Realistic recommendations for transitioning to sustainable energy This report not only highlights the environmental damage caused by fossil fuels but also emphasizes the opportunities offered by renewable energy, from reducing greenhouse gas emissions to creating green jobs. Through extensive research and references to reliable sources, I aim to raise awareness and inspire actionable change. I’m eager to hear your thoughts and engage in discussions about this vital topic. Let’s build a greener future together

🌞🍃 Ample land for sustainable renewable expansion in Europe! New study by European Environmental Bureau reveals that Europe has sufficient land to expand solar and wind energy without compromising food production or nature. The study shows that only half of the land deemed suitable for renewable energy—excluding natural reserves and high-value agricultural areas—is needed to decarbonise the EU by 2040. 👉 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/dYvtmTh8
