QHSE Superintendent, Fire Engineering technician, advanced first Aider, HSE auditor, Light vehicle Engineering technician.
We're at an inflection point regarding the future of work and the people who do it. To become a great place to work in 2024(and beyond), organizations must make people central to any decision they make by reaffirming their commitment to their employees and the community they serve. But they will have to do more than just offer vague promises and carefully crafted corporate statements - they must walk the talk and enact real change.

I came across this picture when working with the great managers at the Phoenix Suns. Do your values align with your company's values? While many people try to fit their life around their career, fit your career around your life and values. Otherwise, you're compromising your life, who you are and your integrity. If you're not happy at work, before you assess your role, manager, or co-workers, assess the company's culture and values fit FIRST before the job fit to get to the root cause. If your personal values aren't aligned with your company's values, you can wind up in the right job at the wrong company. First find the culture and people with shared values to ensure you're in an environment to thrive. Then, success will follow.

Simon Sinek said, "Actions speak louder than words. All companies say they care, right? But few actually exercise that care." In #federalcontracting it is very possible for you to work FOR a company, but not actually be NEAR your company, or feel like they care. Our owner and CEO, Nick Ducceschi, wants a different experience for our employees! This is why, in our first year, we've developed and implemented TLA's "Employee Experience." Our goal is to foster intentional, meaningful relationships with our deployed employees, at an interval that is manageable and reasonable for them. This isn't to replace regular conversations & catch-ups, but to make sure that we as a company are intentional about caring for and investing in our employees' careers and goals! (p.s. - this is just the overview timeline, if you'd like to find out more, email careers@tla-llc.com or reach out to Amber Dionne, Valerie Passwaiter, CCMP, Adrian Prost, Ann Hirsch, or Mason Stanley) #growth #goals #culture #career #support

TEAM is committed to bringing our Values to life. These are more than just words posted on our website - our Values guide our behaviors and actions everyday and influence how we carry out our job roles to the maximum benefit of our community and further TEAM’s mission. Through the month of June, we are focusing on ▶️Accountability◀️. Our Family Support Specialists and Community Health Workers reflected on what Accountability means for them in their day-to-day responsibilities, and crafted Accountability statements as commitments and reminders to this core TEAM value. A couple of these statements read… “I will hold myself accountable by committing to setting clear and achievable goals, organizing and prioritizing tasks effectively, and communicating transparently with my team and supervisors. I will seek and act on feedback, take ownership of my actions and decisions, and manage my time efficiently to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.” “I will hold myself accountable by not seeing others in a judgmental manner, but rather viewing their challenges/ successes as opportunities for growth and learning. This will be done by exemplifying TEAM’s values in my work and relationships within TEAM’s structure.” Talk about an exceptional team! 🌟Kudos🌟 to our staff and their daily commitment to exemplifying TEAM’s values.

#TeamworkTuesday As professionals, we can often find ourselves immersed in projects and tasks that require collaboration and collective effort. As the Chair of the Financial Services Committee for the Atlanta Black Chambers for the past seven years, I have learned that embracing teamwork is not just essential but also immensely rewarding. Along my journey, these are some of the benefits I have experienced: 1. Synergy and Innovation: When individuals with diverse skills, backgrounds, and perspectives come together, magic happens. 2. Enhanced Productivity: A well-coordinated team can achieve more in less time. By dividing tasks based on expertise and working towards common goals. 3. Continuous Learning and Growth: Working within a team provides ample opportunities for learning and development fostering a culture of continuous growth and improvement. 4. Support and Motivation: In the face of challenges and setbacks, a supportive team can provide invaluable encouragement and motivation and resilience. 5. Celebrating Success Together: Success is sweeter when shared with others. One of the most rewarding aspects of teamwork is celebrating achievements as a team. As we navigate life, let's recognize and harness the power of teamwork. By fostering collaboration, embracing diversity, and nurturing a supportive team culture, we not only unlock greater potential but also cultivate a more fulfilling and rewarding professional journey. Here's to the incredible things we can achieve when we work together as a team! 💪 #AtlantaBlackChambers

In today's fast-paced corporate landscape, visibility is key. Ensuring that your work is seen and recognized can open doors to new opportunities, career growth, and professional development. It's crucial to showcase your achievements and contributions so that your hard work gets the recognition it deserves. However, while visibility is important, we must also remember that not every valuable contribution is always in the spotlight. Many dedicated professionals work tirelessly behind the scenes, ensuring that the organization runs smoothly. Their efforts might not always be visible, but their impact is profound. Organizations need to understand and appreciate the silent achievers whose work may not always be in the limelight but is essential for the company's success. A smooth-running organization is often a testament to the hard work and commitment of these individuals. Let's strive to create a balanced culture where both visible achievements and silent contributions are equally valued and recognized. Together, we can build a workplace that celebrates all forms of dedication and hard work.

This short opinion penned by Suzy Welch is about GE's decision to let go of Crotonville, which for years was a model of ground up innovation. I admired the concept and it shaped my innovation work in the hospitality space. In the article, Welch highlights a quote from her management class that resonates with me: "During the Q&A, a student asked about motivation. After Ms. Field’s reply, which I agreed with, I added, “Look, what Emily is saying is that managing people is hard, because to do it right you have to authentically care about them. On some level, management is an act of love.” That last sentence takes some guts to say, and I believe it is the critical distinction in what differentiates a great leader in work and life. As many colleagues and clients know, I frequently sign my emails, "Work with Love," which means: bring huge heart to the work you do, and let the people feel it in your leadership substance and style. As a leader, your job is about creating new outcomes that change lives. To ‘Work with Love’ means having the courage to do it from the right place each day.
