McVoy SVP & Shareholder at Repario will be a dialogue leader at the inaugural meeting of The Sedona Conference’s Working Group 13 on Artificial Intelligence and the Law. Every year, The Sedona Conference brings together industry leaders to explore the evolving intersection of technology and the legal profession, addressing key issues like AI, best practices, regulation, and governance. Thomson-Reuter issued a white paper on AI in professional services in August last year (https://tmsnrt.rs/3x49NPf). We love this framework and its core messages: 1.There will be phases of change as the industry adjusts to the new reality created by this transformational technology and the response of clients, existing and new 2.Whilst the near term change will be seen in the change to workflows, the winners will have made real changes to their business models and embraced new markets like DIY and AI-led entrants 3.Thomson-Reuters seem to think this will take 10 years. We suspect incumbents will be lucky if the new entrants leave them alone for this long, patiently waiting for them to execute a perfect forward defence stroke 😉 We run AI workshops for firms and conferences which help lawyers specifically to understand AI and where the practical use cases and opportunities are.
