It's your last chance to register for tomorrow's webinar! At 2pm ET, Replica is hosting a webinar to demonstrate the power of the soon-to-be-released Road Closure Scenario application. We’ll discuss a variety of applications for this tool, like travel estimates, environmental impact assessments, socio-economic impact assessments, and more. Join us to learn how your organization can leverage the application to designate roads for closure, visualize traffic diversion patterns, and visualize forecasted impacts. https://lnkd.in/e8aGcdmw

This is an excellent quote, although I'd like to see us embrace a braver and perhaps truer alternative: because of the complexities involved in biodiversity monitoring there is often the opportunity for more than one truth. What matters most is ensuring that your chosen method for measuring success is defensible, repeatable and based on sound science.
One of my lingering thoughts from @ecoacoustics24 (which was a great conference btw) relates to the role of traditional field survey data in validating new ecoacoustic methods. It can be summed up in this quote from Woodhouse (2021): The use of the term “ground truth” can distort our understanding of what remote sensing has achieved in the past and risks constraining our imagination of what it might achieve in the future. It primes us to believe that the right answer, the most truthful one, is the one that is measured on the ground not the one measured from a distance. When we use the term it does not allow for the possibility that the most valid measurement, is actually the one made from above”

Winter roads can be challenging, but with Winter Road Insights, you have a software solution that transforms how we manage them. By collecting real-time friction data from connected vehicles, the system continuously analyzes road conditions and delivers actionable insights. This empowers road maintenance teams to: - Detect icy conditions more quickly. - Target the right roads at the right time. - Monitor and evaluate completed maintenance. - Optimize salting and sanding to reduce costs and environmental impact. With Winter Road Insights, we’re not just making roads safer, we’re saving lives while advancing sustainability and cost-efficiency. This isn’t just a solution for today’s challenges; it’s an investment in a smarter, more sustainable future. By minimizing unnecessary resource use, we deliver economic savings and a smaller environmental footprint. AADT 2023 counts are here! 🙌 Getting reliable Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) counts is critical for #InfrastructurePlanning. It informs how states, cities, and counties prioritize safety improvements, advance climate resiliency, anticipate roadway repairs, and lots more. But since many roads lack permanent traffic counters, getting accurate counts isn't always easy. Luckily, our 2023 AADT estimates are available for any road, and correlate strongly with ground-truth #AADT, with an r-squared of 0.98 (that's really good, in case statistics isn't your thing). You can learn more about our AADT 2023 methodology and validation in our white paper: https://lnkd.in/gVB6nt7y #transportation #TransportationPlanning
