The North-East and Tees Valley now have 27 elected MPs 15 of those are men and 12 women Represent Women would like to congratulate all of the new and re-elected MPs and look forward to working with them to create real change for women and girls in the North East. We'll be in touch with them all to invite them to talk about our work advocating for the women and girls sector in the North East. Following International Women's Day it is interesting to note: There are approximately 100,000 councillors in England, but only 39.2% of them are women; women make up 51% of the population. We need more women in local government. When women aren’t at the decision-making table, decisions are made to us, not for us.
