The North-East and Tees Valley now have 27 elected MPs 15 of those are men and 12 women Represent Women would like to congratulate all of the new and re-elected MPs and look forward to working with them to create real change for women and girls in the North East. Following International Women's Day it is interesting to note: There are approximately 100,000 councillors in England, but only 39.2% of them are women; women make up 51% of the population. We need more women in local government. When women aren’t at the decision-making table, decisions are made to us, not for us.
