Reproductive BioMedicine Online’s Post

This new literature review from christine decanter, Elisabeth Elefant, Catherine Poirot, and Blandine Courbiere provides summary analysis that enables us to determine the procedure for monitoring reproductive indicators in adolescent and young women cancer survivors. Anti-Mullerian Hormone appears to be the best real-time indicator of follicular depletion and renewal during and after cancer treatment in 2-3 years of follow-up. The authors discuss the need for subsequent long-term follow-up to be able to elaborate formal recommendations regarding further fertility preservation strategies and future family planning. This, they say, is of particular interest in the youngest patients, i.e. 15-25 years old, for whom the reproductive lifespan is likely to be the most affected. As with all our Review articles, the paper is free to read in full at the point of publication.
