This new literature review from christine decanter, Elisabeth Elefant, Catherine Poirot, and Blandine Courbiere provides summary analysis that enables us to determine the procedure for monitoring reproductive indicators in adolescent and young women cancer survivors. Anti-Mullerian Hormone appears to be the best real-time indicator of follicular depletion and renewal during and after cancer treatment in 2-3 years of follow-up. The authors discuss the need for subsequent long-term follow-up to be able to elaborate formal recommendations regarding further fertility preservation strategies and future family planning. This, they say, is of particular interest in the youngest patients, i.e. 15-25 years old, for whom the reproductive lifespan is likely to be the most affected. As with all our Review articles, the paper is free to read in full at the point of publication. It is available now from our in-press articles https://lnkd.in/eP4x8Dns #FemaleReproductiveHealthAndFertility #Cancer #Fertility #FertilityPreservation #AMH #Chemotherapy #AYA

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month This month, we stand united in raising awareness about breast cancer and its effects, not just on health but also on fertility. For many women and men diagnosed with breast cancer, treatment options like chemotherapy and radiation can impact their ability to conceive in the future. 💔 But there is hope. Fertility preservation options, such as egg or sperm freezing, are available for those who want to protect their future family-building plans. If you or a loved one are facing a diagnosis, make sure to ask your healthcare provider about these options early in your journey. Let’s spread the message that breast cancer doesn’t just affect the present — it can impact dreams of starting or growing a family. But with the right support, those dreams can still be within reach. 🌈 www.drdeo.co.za | 012-367-4364 | reception@drdeo.co.za #BreastCancerAwareness #EarlyDetection #FertilityHope #MiraclesDoHappen #DrDeoCares #DrDeo #ReproductiveHealth #Gynaecology #FertilitySpecialist #NgakaYaBoMme #TTC #Infertility #Fertility #Gynaecologist #DrTebogoDeo
