❤️ Love this RepVue throwback post of our podcast conversation from a bit ago. ❤️ I still have the same feelings about growth and change today as I did then: 💪 Your ability to take on new challenges effectively starts with the confidence you have in YOURSELF to execute and figure things out. I gained confidence by auditing all of the times I excelled at something for the first time. Spoiler alert - we've all got THOUSANDS of examples. List them, count them, go back to them. You've crushed it multiple times, why would this time be different? Bet on yourself. 🗒 Before I got into SaaS, I was intimidated by the thought of "selling technology". Larry D'Angelo told me that I didn't have to know the technology inside and out, but I had to know the value the technology brought to business outcomes. I had been selling "value" forever. In Media we sold the value and power of our audience and their spending power. In tech, I sell the value the technology brings to needed business outcomes. 📈 Lastly, RepVue, keep doing what you are doing, friends. Every Company and Sales Leader (myself included), should be aiming to be at a minimum on your top 10 list of companies to work for. I know it's a goal of mine, with a business outcome of happy reps who earn, learn, have fun, and grow here at BILL. P.S. I honestly thought this would end up being my worst month performance wise. The July holiday means that there’s less selling days in the month, and a lot of folks will reschedule as they take vacations in the summer. Also ran into technical/software issues that hurt productivity 🥲🥲 At the end of the day, I just focused on controlling what I could, one day at a time: 🔹meaningful activity that leads to conversations, 🔹honing my skills, talk tracks, and increasing my understanding of the problem that we solve for 🔹Having a structured process for everything (BTW live in your calendar!!!) It ended up being my best month, finishing 150% to quota (and set a company record) But guess what? It starts over to 0 tomorrow. And the game will remain the same: control what you can, one day at a time 💯 #sales #coldcalling #outbound

I closed 30% of last quarter’s target in the final week of December. I can’t explain it 🤷♀️ Last year didn’t follow any of the patterns I’ve become used to. August was busier than usual, September was quieter. November we invoiced our best month in the business to date. December wasn't great for invoicing but had some fantastic sales wins. What am I taking from this? 💪 Don’t give up. Up until the last minute, I could have assumed that Q4 was a dud, then it all turned around on two confirmed projects. 🌊 Plan for the unexpected. Flexibility is the key to riding the waves of uncertainty. 🎉 Take time to celebrate. When the wins happen, enjoy them - you have no idea what’s around the corner. Reflecting on all this has made me realise that the longer I’m in business, the more relaxed I become about the future. Because the truth is, we can’t predict it. Of course we need to plan, to prepare, to analyse what’s happened in the past and try to use it to make sense of what might happen in the future. But ultimately we just need to keep putting one foot in front of the other, showing up consistently, doing our best work, and trusting that whatever the future has in store, we can handle it. #leadershiplessons #agencylife #unpredictable
