#MSD, a biopharmaceutical company, has launched an #HPV awareness campaign featuring two captivating mini-movies. The first, “Zombie School” (姜屍校園), targets young family men, while the second, “Too 驚 to handle”, is intended for sexually active men. Narrow Door is the creative agency behind the campaign. The impressive cinematic effects of these mini-movies capture the audience's attention while delivering educational messages. Presented in an entertaining manner, the overarching theme of the campaign is "Guide to Men's Survival" (男人生存法則), which includes two key messages conveyed in the two respective mini-movies: 1/ Take care of yourself in order to take care of your family (要顧家,先要顧好自己!) 2/ Be smart, be afraid (知驚,先係知埞) By featuring Keung To (姜濤) and Stephen Fung (馮德倫) in the mini-movies, the campaign aims to create talking points across different demographics. The collaboration of these two stars has earned substantial coverage for the campaign on both online and offline media. Besides, the 3-minute Zombie Video was premiered on ViuTV, attracting KOLs and celebrities counting down together for the campaign launch. Two US senators have introduced bipartisan legislation that would authorize the FDA to impose fines on #socialmedia #influencers and #telehealth companies for posting false information online about #prescription drugs. Why is this an important development? A few thoughts, with the full article for EMARKETER Digital Health Briefing subscribers in the comments. ◾ The online ecosystem connecting drugmakers, telehealth providers, and influencers is getting muddier by the day. Telehealth companies frequently partner with social media influencers to promote how easy it is to access a certain medication. ◾ This is not always what's best for the patient--particularly younger ones who regularly encounter influencer-driven social media posts on prescription drugs such as weight loss and psychiatric medications. 91% of TikTok users ages 18 to 29 have seen information or advice about mental health on the app, per a June 2024 KFF survey. 79% in this age group have seen weight loss-related information or advice. What's next? ◾Healthcare and pharma brands and marketers who are part of the health influencer economy will want to closely monitor if stricter enforcement around online drug ads will be forthcoming. ◾ Staying on top of regulators’ updates will be critical for marketers who must ensure that influencers they work with are properly trained on appropriately communicating all disclosures and claims.

In light of the recent marketing tactic used by Poonam Pandey to spread awareness about cervical cancer, it’s hard to ignore the repercussions of ‘Influence.’ Although some might say that this has ignited serious discussions around this form of cancer, it’s hard to ignore the distasteful way of toying with the human emotions. ‘Anything to grab attention,’ might be the current trend, but Brands shouldn’t become insensitive to real emotions like death in the aim for attention.
