🌏🏙️ Last month, #MITCRE researchers met with ASEAN real estate professionals in Singapore to explore sustainable urban development in Asia, where by 2025, 2.5 billion people will live and work. 🔗Read the article: https://lnkd.in/gYPhi8Y9 Held at the Marina Bay Financial Centre, an industry roundtable brought together 30+ leaders from across Southeast Asia to discuss the challenges and opportunities of sustainability in real estate. Keynotes from Tan Swee Yiow (REDAS) and MIT’s Siqi Zheng set the stage for discussions on defining sustainability metrics, overcoming implementation barriers, and documenting successful case studies. Following the roundtable, MIT and National University of Singapore faculty convened for a research workshop covering #AI in real estate, the economic impact of #climatechange, and evolving markets in Asia. The event highlighted future collaboration opportunities aimed at promoting sustainability across the region. 👐🌿💡☀️♻️🐛💚 Announcing the 2024 Fishermans Bend Digital Innovation Challenge 👐🌿💡☀️♻️🐛💚 A #thriving, #healthy and #circular city begins with an #idea.  We know this to be true, having seen myriad incredible ideas come to life over the years through City of Melbourne’s open innovation programs, including Remix Raingardens, Micro-Labs and Social Spaces. This year's theme is A #Regenerative City, answering the question, “How might technology and data enable city spaces to be more resource efficient, circular, resilient and healthy?” The winning idea, determined by a panel of judges and community vote, will receive $90,000 to develop and pilot in Australia’s largest urban renewal project, #FishermansBend.  Digital Innovation Challenges are designed to help us think about the #future, together. In this challenge the term ‘regenerative’ is used to stimulate ideas that are #productive and #nourishing, that consider #people, the #planet and the #systems and #processes that connect us. Importantly, challenge participants will get access to support through events and mentoring, Open Data, and training with Phil Ore, Co-CEO and Chief Mentor at 25eight. This looking for transformative and transferable ideas, that leverage tech and data to drive real, scalable impact. On 18 April, Council will launch the Challenge at narrm ngarrgu Library where you’ll hear from an exciting line-up of speakers including #DamonGameau, thought-leader in regenerative approaches and award-winning filmmaker, and the 2022 winner Amira Moshinsky, Caroline Sanz-Veitch and Nina Sharpe, Lead Convenors at Regen Melbourne will run an activity to spark ideas and collaboration. This. Is. Epic. The City of Melbourne is the seventh fastest growing municipality in Australia and the fastest growing capital city council in percentage terms.
