Recently I was on the call with the Business Development Director from one of the top Robotics companies in the world. 20 years old company with a great reputation. What is the Missing Key to Next Level Machine Shop Success? Everyday we listen to #machineshop leaders who are extraordinarily busy. Many of them are facing the same high quality problem. Fortunately, this is the problem most machine shop leaders want. Most of those machine shop leaders will tell you they don't have enough time to focus on the real issues plaguing their operation. How do you solve it and move ahead? The first step is evaluating the challenge and looking for the root cause. Some of those machine shop leaders are spending more time trying to move associates around to fill gaps. Some of them are interviewing people trying to get enough people on board to handle all of orders they have right now and ramp up for what is coming down the pike. Some are focused on pulling in more new customers and more orders. 💹 Some are trying to get a better handle on costs while others are working to cut their backlog to deliver orders on time. 🕛 What is the missing key to resolving all of these issues? Adding a purpose-built, CNC machine-tending robot. 🔑 The appropriate question would be how adding that robot can resolve so many issues at once? Nothing in the #cnc universe gives you greater control over production and costs than adding a robot. Even if you finance the robot at today's rates, it still costs less than the human machine operator. So you are ahead from Day One. The maintenance costs are extremely low so your total cost of ownership gives your banker and your CFO an ear to ear grin. 😊 That grin is contagious and you might have it too. Once the robot is in place, over the next 15 years, you won't be filling that machine operator role. That means everyone who is responsible for that hire now has more time to focus elsewhere. When associates take selfies with the robot, hiring gets easier too. When you redeploy that machine operator to a new role in your company, that is another person you don't have to hire.
