This one's for the Master of Wine students! Can you write confidently about the legal aspects of wine? 🤔 On 20th and 21st November, 6pm UK time on both days (replays will be available), I am joining forces with Dominic Buckwell DipWSET, lawyer and wine enthusiast who recently co-founded the Libération Tardive Foundation, to run a two-part paid webinar series on the intersection between wine and the law. The series will cover essential legal aspects for MW students regarding wine production, business, and current issues - highly relevant for theory papers 4 and 5 in particular. Key topics will include: 👉🏻 environmental laws impacting viticulture 👉🏻 intellectual property focused on brand protection 👉🏻 international trade laws that regulate competition and fair trade practices 👉🏻 consumer laws governing labelling and marketing 👉🏻 health and safety standards ensuring product safety 👉🏻 alcohol licensing requirements The sessions will highlight the complexity of wine law across diverse jurisdictions and its relevance to MW exams. Practical examples from past exams will demonstrate how wine law integrates with social, economic, and historical contexts. Emerging issues like climate change regulations and no/low alcohol trends will also be explored for their implications on production and business strategies. The cost for the series (two x 60 minute sessions, plus Q&A) will be £57, and attendees will retain access to the recording to re-visit any time before their exams. To book your place, please DM me for the link. This is going to be packed with INVALUABLE information and examples! Here's to your newfound legal knowledge 🥂 Anne

Be careful how you choose your expert witness! I have been working as an expert witness since 2013 and although I don't promote it to a significant degree the following article maybe of some use to those working in the field. There are many on these feeds presenting themselves as experts and that may work on linkedin but at court the truth will out. https://lnkd.in/e-it-pu8 #foodlaw #expertwitness #courts #prosecution #trust
