World's Tallest Wooden Skyscaper Takes Shape in Milwaukee. For the second time this decade Milewaukee will host of the world's tallest timber skycraper. At a height of 182.88m/ 600ft, the as yet unnamed 55 story tower will be part of the "Marcus Performing Arts Center renovations and overseen by MGA | Michael Green Architecture." The previous tallest wooden tower was the 25 story Ascent Tower. For the new building, "MGA will rely on much stronger options like glulam (a type laminated timber) and cross-laminated timber (CLT) that are specifically designed to withstand stress, moisture, and other environmental pressures." Housing 750 housing units, 300 hotel rooms, retail space and parking, the timber building will have a better environmental footprint than steel and concrete and be more fire resistant than modern alternatives. We provided SubFloor raised steel flooring to renovate, raise and level a listed museum floor into a modern meeting space in Liverpool! ⭐️ Due to the building being listed, non-destructive assembly methods were required, but as SubFloor could simply be glued onto the base, this wasn't an issue. Byram Construction installed the raised flooring which allowed for easy air flow ventilation, as well as access to any underfloor services, making maintenance in the long term much easier. Our fibre-reinforced screws and steel joists allowed the system to meet all of the load requirements, and with the ease of setting up the flooring to the shape and height of the rooms, this greatly increased the speed of the assembly and project.
