IMPACT INVESTING: ESG IN LATAM The Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) just launched the National Impact Economy System (SIMPACTO) – the same day it published the rule setting up the SIMPACTO. The new system seeks to promote convergence between the federal government, states, and municipalities in order to strengthen the business environment for the impact economy. 💡 As used in this context, “Impact Economy” is an economic modality characterized by the balance between the pursuit of financial results and the promotion of solutions to social and environmental problems, through ventures with a positive socio-environmental impact, which enable the regeneration, restoration and renewal of natural resources and the inclusion of communities, contributing to an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economic system. ➡ At the launch ceremony, the federal government signed its first technical cooperation agreements within the new Impact Economy context with two of the country’s states – Alagoas and Rio Grande do Norte – bring them into the SIMPACTO. A little more than a week ago Baltic Sustainability Awards was in Lithuania, where we delved deep into the theme of Cross-border Collaboration for Climate Action in the great Sustainability Forum 2024 organized by our ecosystem partner ROCKIT Vilnius. 🌍🔥 Our discussion highlighted the incredible potential that lies in collective efforts to address climate change. The main takeaway from our fireside chat?
